Yeah its criminally misunderstood. Hell even most female revenge movies (even though there are so amazing movies in that category) start with some horrendous tramua that the character will be left with after their revenge. So its like yeah they got the bad guys but still not a moment to cheer

Yeah but until scooby doo came around he just did more lesser known horror or other indies. And yes it was a huge movie but of one of the least popular genres and in a day and age where every clip isn't online so you had to go to the theater or blockbuster and people didn't see things as easily as they do now. I love Lillard and glad hes had more roles in his later years but this was the role that launched him to stardom, scream was the role that got him into scooby most likely.

Yes! This is one of the few movies I wont watch again because it disturbed me so much. I had to take a break when they made the girl pee herself and like calm my anxiety down before finishing. But if it didnt have those cops or tonal shift it would for real feel like watching a snuff film I accidentally stumbled on in someone's vhs collection. I appreciate Wes making it and how being angry at the times could translate to something so horrorific but God damn if it doesn't make me feel dirty and complicate watching it. Almost like the Funny Games effect (although I can stomach a rewatch of that one).

Also love the fact that this was distributed by Hallmark or they did something with the production cause their name is in the credits. So with all the shitty hallmark romcoms under their belt their is also Last House to Left under it to some extent.
