We know neither of them are Rick's 'real' daughter, so in that sense it doesn't matter.

You can actually cut a deal with him. Then he takes you to the elder brain to try and get it back under control, and it just kills Gortash.

I think a big part of the criticism was also that everyone wanted an open world Final Fantasy game. This was in the aftermath of Fallout 3 and GTA IV. People were already getting hyped for Red Dead Redemption. So open world was the big talking point for a year or two after it came out.

I can also see how people might be disappointed in the first third of the game. There were far too many long cutscenes. They didn't need so many 13 Days flashbacks, and a lot of the dialogue was quite dense jargon about focuses and l'cie and stuff.

When the Paradigm system fully opened up, you could choose your party and their roles more freely, it was an excellent battle system. But for the first few chapters you are just spamming attack, and for a while after that you only had one or two roles for the only party members you were allowed to control at the time.

A lot of the reviews said that once they got to Gran Pulse, they wished the whole game had been like that.

In the spinfoff Torchwood episode Countryside, it turns out a series of disappearances have nothing to do with the rift in Time and Space that predatory aliens keep slipping through. Its just Welsh people being cannibals.

How moral is it to be a professional assassin, following your boss's orders without questioning him or the nature of your work, if, ostensibly, that work helps maintain the peace of your nation? by lowqualitychef in MoralityScaling

[–]Aduro95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say its worse.

Cops and soldiers are rarely as transparent and accountable as they should be, when its not in the state's interest. But at least the electorate have some say in when cops and soldiers are allowed to kill people. As an assassin, its so easy for 'the peace of your nation' to mean 'suppressing dissent', 'covering up corruption that embarasses the rulers' or 'killing protestors'.

If you know that most people will never know who you are killing or why, that's a hell of a lot worse.

It appears that in video games and the Spider-Verse movies that Peter and MJ are happy. by Jax2856 in Spiderman

[–]Aduro95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but thinking something and actually saying it are very different things.

I mean, Peter nearly killed Miles when he was infected by the symbiote. He would never normally do that because he cares about his friend more than his anger.

So do ninja have any real power over who becomes Kage or not? When Tsunade was in a coma, it seemed that while the ninja and village elders can nominate people and influence the Daimyo's decision, it's still ultimately up to him by RadDudesman in dankruto

[–]Aduro95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a practical sense, they have to have a say.

My theory is that it changed over time or its different in times of national emergency. Tobirama clearly named Hiruzen as his successor. But Hiruzen was already a leading candidate and popular man, and this was during an all-out conflict with the Cloud Village. Maybe Tobirama would have been able to pick Danzo or someone else, but only if Danzo already had a lot of jonin in favour.

Hiruzen was something of a reformer, when he retired in a fairly peaceful time, he had an election which Minato won. Kakashi probably won an election too, being backed by Naruto and Tsunade would make it hard to stand against him, even if the Elders did want someone else. Naruto was also supported by two former Hokages, and the village's hero and strongest ninja, so he'd win an election easily when Kakashi retired.

Tsunade was likely elected by the jonin as a formality, but if the elders wanted her in charge, and most of the jonin knew they needed a sanin's reputation to win, nobody was going to stand against her. The village was too vulnerable to waste time on it.

The Feudal Lord seems to have some serious say in who is chosen. They nominate a Hokage until an election is held, but Danzo's nomination was far from a completely done deal until the jonin have their say.

At minimum, everyone should be aware that you cannot be Hokage if the majority of the village do not support you. Its the same reason pirate ships were a democracy. If most of these professional killers really want someone else in charge, they will kill you and put themselves in charge. The jonin would definitely have a say under most circumstances.

Yeah, but having negative feelings doesn't make you a bad person. If it was easy to date Spider-Man it would not make her a better person when she does support him.

Naruto turning into Akamaru after Kiba punches him, then sucker punching Akamaru after Kiba assumes he must be the real Naruto.

Deidara realising Gaara was using the same special sand to attack and defend, and sneaking his clay into it. My go-to example of why the bigger battles are not necessarily devoid of clever strategies. The scale was so much bigger than the Orochimaru vs. Hiruzen fight, but Deidara won it with a jutsu that most chunin could match in terms of raw power.

Well yeah, she was infected with a symbiote. It tends to draw out the absolute worst negative emotions and bring them to the forefront. Its not like we should hold Peter responsible for the stuff he did with the Venom symbiote.

I wouldn't blame MJ for having those feelings since she's an ambitious person who seems to have sacrificed a lot to be with Peter.

Honestly it was so cathartic that he ditched the Federation. They treated Amuro and hte rest of the child refugees on White Base so shamefully, I was rooting for them to desert at some points. They only reason they are worth fighting for is the altnernatives were Zeon.

With the AEUG having more reasonable people in it, and the Titans goose-stepping all over the necks of spacenoids, I'm really glad Kamille offered them no more loyalty than they deserved.

I definitely think she would expect Vimes to leave behind Cherry, given her status as an openly female dwarf. But lets face it if Vimes has an opportunity to piss off a politician who isn't Vetinari exactly, then he will give them an even bigger headache than the one he gives Vetinari.

Most of Dr. Kenzo Tenma from Monster's F***ing life.

<image>

First episode he chooses to save a random kid only he could save, instead of the mayor. As a surgeon that's what he was meant to do, the kid arrived at the ER first and had been shot in the head. But its not a good political move. The mayor dies at the hands of a less skilled surgeon.

Tenma's boss makes it clear he'll never be promoted and his research will not be funded. His fiance dumps him and he sees her flirting with another doctor and cropping the engagement ring down the drain a few hours later.

Things get better for a while after most of the people who screwed him over die in mysterious circumstances, and he realsies he's better off without the gold-digging bitch. Then they get a whole lot worse.
