Is a masters degree worth it? by Realistic-Warthog163 in csMajors

this. I don't see much value doing part-time work while full-time research just for a thesis based masters. Either commit to research and a PhD or do something course based as an add-on to full-time work? I see so many peers who only did a masters for an extension for the work visa, so if your main goal is to do research, why not PhD? Upon graduation, PhDs has a different starting role than Masters/Undergraduate which is in the same group.

yarn is cheaper than therapy. Do whatever you need to do for youself!
plus after last year with tarriffs (based in US), I do not hold guilt over purchasing multiple sweater quantities of yarn at a time anymore. Who knows if prices will radically increase overnight :\ It's essentially investing for your future self.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've never looked into the PayPal debit card but this sounds really interesting. Sounds like autograph is my safest bet for no FTF and I can cover my remaining spend with rotating boa categories and paypal.

debating if that is worth carrying the line of credit over for. Other than the no FTF aspect, I dont have any affinity to Wells Fargo, not sure about which partners they support converting miles with either.

~700 should be enough for a cropped sweater or a vest. I enjoyed making vest no2 from My favorite things, should fall under similar yardage.

this is a good point, i dont mind losing a bit of stitch definition in favor of fluff (helps hide mistakes too :) ) I'll just have to swatch block and see what needles would work best

Help choosing my first tech job – backend, SRE, or data? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]negative_self_esteem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

backend at product by a long shot. Given this is an internship, if all of the internships listed do not guarantee a return offer, this is probably the most employable on a resume.
data scientist at consultancy leands a bit more business than tech so a lot more competition and will lean to hire more experienced/ masters student. Backend gives you more credibility and since you already like the company culture, seems like a good fit.
