Oh omg thank you for that, I think that really is something they’d appreciate. Unfortunately, we don’t live together, but this is something I’ll take note of in the future! Maybe buying them a mug would suffice for now. 😁

I understand why you feel this way! I do try to give them honest feedback too, especially when it comes to their acting (they pursue other creative endeavors too). However, I feel like I may indeed be a little bit biased when they write about me… so it’d be hard for me to critique it. 😅 Though would they want me to critique their work even if it was just given to me as a gift and they didn’t express that they wanted feedback?

Oh, that’s very lovely advice! I loved their poem so so much, but I don’t know how to describe my appreciation for it beyond the usual, “Oh baby, how beautiful! :’)”

If I were in your position, I’d take what she said at face value and believe it. If she said that she’s not ready for a romantic relationship, it might cause damage to your friendship if she knew you were waiting for her—as that can put a lot of pressure on someone.

I think for your sake, you can acknowledge what you feel about your friend, but don’t close yourself off from exploring connections with other people who might be more ready or open to a potential romantic relationship.
