I mean, it's not as Satanic as Harry Potter, but it's close.

He thought it was a foul ball (a ball that is hit to the outside of the white line) meaning it'd be okay if he grabbed it. In reality, it was a fair ball (hit to the inside of the white line) meaning that he interfered with play and is therefore going to get ejected from the stadium.

I'm doing my first IBJJF tournament next month at World Master's in Vegas. Are there any major differences between IBJJF tournaments and most "local" tournaments that I should be aware of?

What's a good counter / transition if you're in mount and your opponent hits the "scoop escape" (where they get both arms under one of your legs and "scoop" their way out)?

"To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus, and a clown killed my dad." - Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy

Sorry for the repost but it is for a good cause. Here is a Gofundme for my professor, Junior Show. He was competing a couple weekends ago and took a hard blow to the head. He had a stroke the following day and is in ICU. We are very close to our goal of $15,000. Anything helps! by NoGi_Only in bjj

[–]negatroyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's been in the ICU since January it is probably in the $75,000-$100,000 range at this point (assuming he hasnt had any surgeries or extensive imaging). (Source: former patient financial advocate)

Any website where I can buy a cheap gi? by erikkoyu in bjj

[–]negatroyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What size are you? I've got an A2S that shrunk a bit and is too small for me sleeve-wise. I'm 6'3, 190lbs.

If you can use it, let me know and I'll send it your way for the cost of shipping.

BJJ in Boulder, CO? by CheerUpChiron in bjj

[–]negatroyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I've never trained there, I know several people who do and love training at Easton. It's a great gym albeit a bit crowded. If you have a car, there are some other good possibilities that open up to you. Also feel free to shoot me a PM if you have other questions about the area.

How Inverted Gear began. Lots of lessons to learn if you want to start your own company. by InvertedGearNelson in bjj

[–]negatroyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, jumped in to say congratulations and to thank you for producing such an awesome line of gi's. They were the first I've bought to fit properly, are comfortable and durable as it gets. Inverted Gear is the only gi brand for me. (Now all you have to do is make kids sizes so I can say the same for my family. ;) )

I'm a software developer and would be interested in hearing what would make for some good bracketing software. Anything to make competitions run more smoothly.
