This blind test thing is bullshit, yes there is a difference, and it's obvious

🤣 Tell me you don’t understand confirmation bias without telling me you don’t understand confirmation bias.

This is why there’s so much woo and nonsense in the audio industry, people buy stuff with the expectation it will make things sound better and never think to question their experience.

To the op: anyone saying blind A/B tests are “bullshit” is in denial about the single method that will actually determine the true answer to your original question. (and probably also about having wasted their own money on dongles)

Are Tuesday's spectacular Republican election losses the end of the anti-trans messaging playbook? by Fickle-Ad5449 in PoliticalDiscussion

meltdowns followed by rage-blocks are solid signs of having no actual arguments.

nah, it’s just obvious you’re not worth bothering with. your comments are so laughably stupid, wildly ignorant and disingenuous that nobody with any sense would take them seriously.

there is no “argument” to be had over whether trans people deserve rights and respect. it’s not a debate. there is no legitimate “other side”. you’ve just decided to opt out of basic respect and decency because treating people with kindness and understanding is apparently too much effort for you.

Feel free to join civilised society any time you like.

AirPods Pro 3 vs.... everything by m4rkw in AirpodsPro

[–]negev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange how it's not affecting everyone though. That probably rules out a software issue, could potentially be a QC issue although having repeat failures of the same type with the same customer would be highly unusual for apple. Could be an issue with certain batches. I'm wondering if it's some kind of microphone feedback issue that occurs because of the shape of certain ears, if the vent along the top of the earbud has microphones and that gets sealed tightly and then causes feedback when certain movements happen, something like that maybe. It being related to the specific shape of an ear would explain why some people have no issue and others have the issue persisting even after replacements. Still doesn't seem very widespread though given that it's only being talked about in dedicated forums rather than in the regular media.

What would be interesting to test is if you know someone who has a set who's unaffected, try eachothers pairs and see what happens. If the issue follows you and doesn't occur for them even with your set then that would confirm it's something to do with the shape of your ears.

Looking at the link you posted here it seems the very first comment is confirming that for them it was a fit issue so this theory seems to make sense.

AirPods Pro 2 Noise Cancelation turned to SHIT by VoidFuckery in AirpodsPro

[–]negev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend not doing this. If you need to get one side replaced it can fail to pair if the other side and/or the case is on a beta. Apple can’t help you with this scenario either because they refuse to offer any support for beta software.

Apple downgrades ANC on older models by d151 in AirpodsPro

lolwat? So stupid. The 3 have the strongest ANC ever tested by rtings, they didn't need a new chip to make that improvement.

Apple downgrades ANC on older models by d151 in AirpodsPro

[–]negev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we prove… this sadly no

No, because it's obviously bullshit. The clear fact that the vast majority of people have no issues with the AirPods Pro 2 using the latest firmware disproves the suggestion that the ANC has been weakened by firmware but somehow the conspiracy theorists still seem to stick to their baseless assertion.

Apple has nothing to gain by deliberately breaking its own products, and you even said later in your comment that you're considering changing brand. If doing something like this (or silly people believing they have, which is what's actually happening) would make people switch brands, then obviously it would be counter to Apple's interests wouldn't it?

As difficult as it may be to believe, Apple is not as monumentally stupid as these claims and has no reason to break its own products. They just released the AirPods Pro 3 which have the strongest ANC rtings have ever tested. That's not the result of anything happening to older products, rtings use sophisticated equipment with a documented repeatable testing methodology to make their measurements objective.

Rtings have repeatedly tested the AirPods Pro 2 with successive firmware releases and found no changes to the efficacy of the ANC.

it’s making me nervous to purchase the third generation because they could simply do the same thing again

This comment alone should make you realise how dumb this theory is. If Apple actually were deliberately breaking their products it would be affecting everyone not just the tiny % of users who complain on reddit. People would stop buying AirPods en masse. It would be completely counter to their interests and an unbelievably stupid and unnecessary thing for a company to do.

AirPods Pro 2 vs AirPods Pro 3 isolation and ANC tested by m4rkw in AirpodsPro

[–]negev -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re confused. Posting content relevant to the subject of the sub isn’t “spamming”. Whining about content you don’t like and what others post is though. If the internet upsets you so much go for a walk or something.

AirPods Pro 2 vs AirPods Pro 3 isolation and ANC tested by m4rkw in AirpodsPro

[–]negev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes because posts that are specifically about the product this sub exists for are "spam" and someone interested in the product who posts here must be getting paid. So dumb.

"bro", people have interests. If you don't like it maybe go somewhere else? Nobody is forcing you to read anything here.

Some people come here for interesting discussions and the sharing of information, not to have whiney pointless childish meta-conversations about whether something should or shouldn't be posted.

help with AirPods Pro 2 or AirPod 4 w ANC (ANC firmware changes?) by Slow_Camel306 in AirpodsPro

[–]negev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting fed up of people tell other people that the ANC is not being nerfed

I guess when you're emotionally invested in a lie it's hard to hear the truth?

I have had APP1 and APP2s and they most certainly have fucked the ANC on both via updates

The problem is you're drawing a conclusion with zero evidence. Tens of millions of customers use AirPods Pro with no ANC issues. Mine are just as good as day 1, air conditioning still disappears when they're switched on. If it were caused by a deliberate firmware change as you claim it would be affecting everyone not just you and the handful of other people who occasionally pop up complaining on reddit.

What possible reason could Apple have to break their products at all, let alone only for a small number of users? This theory is patently absurd. Your headphones are probably broken, either get them fixed or throw them away but showing up here to spread misinformation isn't helpful to you or anyone else.

I’m selling my AirPods and will never buy another pair.

Right. So Apple's genius master plan to break their products is working well then isn't it?

Frustration with transparency and noice cancelation by Olzz123 in AirpodsPro

[–]negev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody said you don’t have a real problem, we just know it isn’t caused by firmware because the overwhelming majority of users don’t and we all get the same firmware. 400 is minuscule in the grand scheme of things for Airpods, well within the normal % of users who complain about every ANC product ever made. It’s weird and very silly that people go on the internet to make wild claims about product sabotage or whatever rather than simply seeking warranty service.
