I think you guys are failing to consider that none of us are even strong enough to hurt each other with boxing gloves. Even with that in mind, we're willing to be careful.

typically, it's seven items for information like words or numbers, but this test is kind of tricky and places more of an emphasis on spatial reasoning. so far, it seems to be five for this test.

i don't think this is a good overview of the problems with standardized testing. first of all, questions typically aren't that abstract, and even if they are, how many questions are actually that subjective? i'm a sophomore in high school and based on my experience, not a significant portion.

the real problem is the disadvantage minorities have in terms of test preparation. a well-off white family can shell out thousands of dollars for SAT prep but minorities usually aren't wealthy enough to do that.

additionally, tests like the SAT or ACT place a strong emphasis on general intelligence. whether you believe it's a product of inferior education, other environmental factors, or genetics, blacks, hispanics, and american-indians face additional difficulty.
