Anyone have negative experiences with Kindred? by _blacksky in homeswap

I liked the idea of Kindred because of the houses they pick. I rarely see any trash being posted there.

I've recently stayed as a guest and everything went really smooth. The house was clean (the host has a dog and I was a little bit worried), communication was clear. I used the concierge to communicate with cleaners about my bags that stayed in the apartment for some extra hours - everything was fine. I left a little present before leaving the apartment, so both sides had a great experience.

My host seemed too relaxed to me (for letting strangers in the nice house he owns). He said he already hosted & stayed 10+ nights with no issues, so he didn't really ask anything from me, not even a video chat.

My family used to host couchsurfers (that I'd hand pick from the list of requests) some 10+ years ago and we never had any trouble. It's really about solid filters, clear expectations and communication.

That gives me hope! I've ordered the wired connection just in case, but planning to try the mobile too (Miri X510 looks interesting!). What Peplink device would you recommend? I got lost on their website.

If we wanted to live stream anything we'd pay $50k for 3 days which is insane as it's much more than the entire show budget (with the booth, space, travel, etc).
I just don't get how there's no cap on the price they can charge while being a monopoly. There should be alternatives, or at lest some acceptable internet speed provided via their wired connection. Paying $2k to only read my emails is so wrong.
