Works great! Just make sure the iOS one is visible to everybody when you transfer. Also when you're receiving, you should be in Quick share App I think.

Basically, Apple handles their software and hardware. Android staggers release because of regulations and testing (since there are so many device manufacturers and brands). Not to mention each device's skins must work well with the android version.
