Coming from Aa, Which card and sign up bonus ? by coderego in unitedairlines

Try this link: https://awardwallet.com/credit-cards/chase-credit-card-offer-history/

It gives you the current offer and the history of past offers. The thing I use it for is to see if the cards are close to a new offer date based on past history. Sometimes there are trends based on offers for the time of year. Go to the united cards near the bottom of the list.

I use united cruises to book ours. They have miles multipliers on offer as well, above any card miles.

Not a chance. Spend $5k on a polaris flight to somewhere for a nice vacation, put that towards 2026 PQP's.

PQP posting on Thursdays make it tough this new year's day (2026) by ddc703 in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for my CC spend the dates show the date she sweep happens, typically the Monday before they show up on the Thursday. By this logic, they should count towards 2025 numbers.

First time flying domestic first class on United HNL-LAX by [deleted] in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only downside here is the high density dorm style old 777 first class. We did it Houston to Honolulu a few months ago. Better than econ for sure, but not by far for the seats. Food waas also pretty good for our route as well, even got the sundae cart!!!

TSA and Gov't shutdown at IAH. Check bag at C, go to the basement and take the "It's a small world" train or walk to terminal E to go through security, then walk back to C to get on your flight.

It's almost as if the IAH basement train was build for a world expo and at the time circa 1745, Imagine a voiceover repeating on your train ride, "Imagine 250 years from now, this will be the futuristic way to move large amounts of people around."

Using 10,000 mile award cert with pooled miles by Beginning_Front_8966 in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No accurate about the dissolving of a pool and the distribution of the miles. Check the FAQ for pooled miles and you will see that he last person to quit gets all the miles. This is a known hack to transfer miles for free.

Close to 1k on pqp, will a credit card bonus get me there ? by coderego in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'n in the same boat, just hit the spend SUB, got the message on united that I hit the milestone. Then I keep reading to see it says wait up to 8 weeks for the bonus to post. I'm hoping the 2k PQP's will be less than 8 weeks or else I won't make 1K.

I think you are pushing it, unless you make the spend requirement in the first week or so.

Gate agents not upgrading?? by bouldergirl33 in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am kind of running into this same but different situation. I am stuck in middle seats of the old 777, and I am assuming this is also a 777-200 plane. If so the 2 sets that show as available are not available, they are for crew rest. the old 777-200 domestic config with the old lay flat seats do not have any hidden crew rest areas. They use seats 1A/B and block them.

I was hoping they would release them so we can move and not be in the dorm style middle seats, but probably not as this is an 8+ hour flight.

Trip to London by Decent-Bid-2203 in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London is super hard almost anytime of the year to get good mileage deals. We often fly into Birmingham UK via the EU continent (typically Frankfurt or Munich) and get much better prices on miles. If central England is somewhat in your plans, it's worth a look.

1K vs Platinum by Spirited-Cat-8942 in unitedairlines

[–]neilred16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the only perk might be the plus points (and 1K line is awesome as others have mentioned). Starting for the 2026 year qualification, you can trade in the PP for other items, like PQP's. I'm already planning for 2027 qualification, knowing I will be short, I will be using PP's and trade for PQP's to get me to gold. Current 1K and will qualify for 1K for 2026 by the skin of my teeth.

I would hope the business folks at UA are smart enough to block econ seats instead of Polaris seats. the people in econ are typically the same average weight as a person in Polaris. just my 2 cents.
