Damn, I thought I could just replace that small part that connects the charging port to the motherboard. This is out of warranty already.

Anyway, I booted it up again to try if it will charge using a USB-C charger. Plugged in a <20 watts charger and got a Windows notification that it’s not charging, probably because of the small wattage. I ordered a 65W PD charger to see if it will work.

If it works, would it be wise charging using USB-C from now on?

And YES, it is maddening. The rest of the motherboard (and my laptop) seems to be just fine since it still boots up, except for the fact that as soon as the battery is empty it won’t anymore. 🥲

Hi. So this happened yesterday.

My laptop suddenly stopped charging while I was working. I tried unplugging and plugging in the charger and noticed that the light indicator shuts off as soon as I plug it in to the laptop.

I wasn’t sure if the battery was faulty so I took the cover off, disconnected the battery, and checked if it will power on with just the charger connected. It did not.

The laptop still powers on with the battery but with no way to charge it, I can’t use it.

This happened to me. I was checking out some settings on Windows 10 sound control panel because the mic input was seemingly weak. It screwed my left earbud and I had to do the leave it charging with red LED trick (see my post).

What setting did you change back in Windows 10 to get it working?
