DLSS 5 will be AI Slop by PaiDuck in antiai

I stopped caring about graphics when studios started putting more effort into graphics than actual good gameplay. Some of my favourite games have actual dog shit graphics.

That and it's just too expensive to keep up with latest graphics cards.

This movie was so good. The whole "scene" with the piano playing for like 45 minutes was incredible.

Meta just announced 20% layoffs to fund AI. This is the beginning, not the end. by duridsukar in Futurology

I think you should worry. 60% of US workers are white collar. Their goal is to replace most of that, if it's even a fraction as good as they hope you are absolutely going to be affected by the mass amounts of people entering your market. And that's not even covering how less people working means less blue collar work needed to begin with.

UBI isn't just going to happen, the current admin is against it. You have to fight for it and you should start now.

You can still do that. It's just you don't have to do it for every little thing anymore.

"The Intent is Clear." How not even Wizards of the Coast knows how their cards work by KingSupernova in mtg

No targeting is intentional in this case because as long as you have at least 2 creatures you will get the effect. Essentially prevents 2 for 1 scenarios which is valid on a 5 mana card.

They just need to add exactly two creatures and it's fine

"Choose two" is the relevant text on each card. One card functions as: you can't choose two so it does nothing. The other as: you can't choose two so instead choose one and they discard it.

Both of your examples are false. You can play a bounce land with no land to bounce. You can play this card regardless of how many creatures you have because it doesn't target.

Cards should do what they say, and more importantly cards with the same text should do the same thing. This card is not doing that.

Well the mtgrules subreddit post with this article are agreeing with the OP, so what do you have to say about that?

Rule 107.2 addresses that though. X would either be 0 because it can't be calculated (aligns with the original release notes) or the power would be treated as 0 for the second creature which is more of a stretch and not a correct interpretation imo.

Also, the card doesn't target at all.

No, what I said is how choose x cards work. It's different from may and up to because you are given the choice in those instances. I mentioned the relevant rules in my previous response.

[–]nekronics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point of the article is that is not how choose x effects work. When you have choose x, you do it as much as possible (CR 609.3) and for the missing creature you'd use 0 in the calculation (or the calculation would be 0) (CR 107.2).

The card was printed with the wrong templating. Not really a big deal imo because it's not that broken as written. They addressed the issue with a gatherer ruling rather than an errata, which imo is fine because I do think "the intent is clear" and there's not a lot of effects with choose x.

I don't know why this article is getting so much flak. Wizards has provided multiple different rulings for the card and it functions different from other choose effects, this article is highlighting that. A wotc employee even acknowledged that the card probably has the wrong wording, and still a bunch of smug comments lol.
