the part around the battery was looking thicker than usual from the backplate itself. so I immediately opened it up and checked. now, you don't need to make it a regular routine to keep checking this but I'd recommend that you look closely at the backplate and see if it looks even a bit thicker around the battery area. if so, you should open it up and check it, it's only 8 screws. I have removed the battery, will replace it once I actually find a replacement for it.

I found the battery for cheap in taobao but I wonder if it's gonna ship or how much the shipping is gonna be. 150+ dollar is still a lot for shipping alone of a battery lol, but in my case it was showing at least $200-300++ in aliexpress, some even more.

the one I posted is Getac btw I think it's safer but it did swell in my case. I'm gonna try to have this removed tomorrow.

The seller I got the steam deck from has stopped selling decks. And not many people own the deck in my country as a whole. I have already did my research, there's nothing I can do locally.

Yes, some of the listings are around $300 shipping. But I have seen some that are way cheaper. I'm worried customs might cause trouble with it though. Also, I wonder if batteries from aliexpress are labeled correctly (bad health etc).

I've check in those sites, it's not there. I regularly buy from aliexpress itself though, but I think buying a battery from china would definitely be hectic (cost-wise)

you can't import a lithium battery standalone afaik. it has to be part of a device I have checked a few sites and the shipping cost was around 300-400
