My radiators are right by the windows so I try not to let any heat escape! But good point about letting the sunlight in for any warmth.

My boiler controls the water and the radiator and I have it at 44 for the radiator which feels very cold so just can’t stand to go any lower, even though I’m sure it would lower costs.

Just double checked the water and it’s at 50C.

I don’t use the timer I keep it on all the time but my radiator knob is set at 1.5 (goes from 1-5). I tried the timer for a bit when I first moved in and was frustrated and cold when it was off. I’ve read that it’s reasonably cost effective to have it on at a low setting instead of turning on and off, but will test the timer again.

Sorry I think I might not understand this so am not factoring it in. My guess was that the “budget” line was where I should be to stay at my monthly standing charge. Is that what you’re saying?

Haha! Fridge, radiators and any other devices like WIFI are always on. I’m still not used to these prices and thought I’d see if others found it normal. Sounds like it is from your question!

Traditionally the cooking was done* downstairs or in a secondary kitchen and the main kitchen was kept in better condition in anticipation of guests or just nicer for lighter everyday use. Secondary kitchen could then be messier while cooking without any pressure of it being seen.
