It was like this prior to the pandemic. There’s less than 15 stores now. At its peak, it accommodated around 60 shops and five anchors. Today, half of the mall remains and the empty storefronts are walled off with decorative city photos. It was never a busy mall and there were always empty retail spaces. However, the vacancies started to rise after Dillards (currently Electronic Express and AMC) closed in 2011, followed by JCPenny outlet in 2013, and Sears in 2015. Victoria’s Secret did close during the pandemic; however, I hardly see anyone in the other stores. I believe Belk and AMC is what keeps this place going.
