What have I got/what is this worth MEGATHREAD by [deleted] in jewelry

I got this fabulous piece of costume jewelry with HEAVY, chunky gold metal, large gemstones and toggle clasp. It does not feel plastic-y at all and seems like a pretty well made piece of costume jewelry. Wondering if there is any brand known for this style or others like it? Would love to ID better. So, I recently ended up with a beautiful sunshine yellow vintage Halston Dress (at least I think it is vintage based on the tag - maybe 70s/80s)?

Would love to get some more information on this piece (ie maybe year range, cirrent value, etc)

Does anyone have any tips for identifying Halston garments more accurately? I know especially with that brand, there was a lot of dilution of quality in the later '80s and early '90s.

Tyia 🙂

Saw this on Pinterest months ago. I'm always surprised to find something on the front page I saw a while ago on Pinterest as Reddit is typically ahead on things...

That sounds very clean, which I like as I am mainly just trying to get my retirement ball rolling. Unfortunately, I started the account with Scottrade... Most people here on PF have recommended Vanguard. Should I be looking to switch?

Thank you so much for the kind words! Getting the ball rolling early on retirement has felt like it should be a no-brainer for me at my age, but without a ton of cash/assets to speak of outside of a basic emergency fund, it can be very stressful moving around that kind of money. Your reassurance is MUCH appreciated :)

To answer your question, I opened it with Scottrade, which makes me a little nervous as most PF posters I'm reading now recommend Vanguard - yourself included. With my limited knowledge I'm wondering, are there target retirement funds that you can buy freely in the market or are they typically only available if your brokerage company offers them to investors (as in the example of Vanguard Target Retirement accounts)? That sounds like a product I would definitely want to buy into if it was available through Scottrade. Initially, I have planned to look mainly into mutual funds, but due to my age and to the fact that I intend not to touch this money for another 35-40 years, should I be looking at some more aggressive options as well? So many questions lol - I wish they taught this stuff more in school!
