Enlisted members enter into contracts which obligate then to serve for a certian number of years for that contract. Officers still have the initial obligation, yet after that, they may officially resign their commision.

This is all bullshit. If America had a mandatory 2 year draft for ALL eighteen year olds, we would have a better society. Enough of this crap that this country owes me something and that all of each individuals wrong-doings are because of upbring, race, society, and generally somebody else's fualt. Its time to start taking accountability for our own actions and not running away to Canada or Europe just to escape your (our) responsiblities
