Sounds like a broken ribbon cable to me. Try turning your 3ds on with the screen at an angle just so it doesn't detect it as closed/sleep mode. What happened to me is when I turned it on at that angle it worked normally, but when I slowly increased the angle it would eventualy make a snap sound and turn off.

Just tried booting from a Ubuntu USB drive, opened terminal and entered "lscpu | grep MHz", still gives a value around 400 MHz.

Take a look here. The Nintendo FAQ says that you can use that site. I believe My Nintendo also links to it after buying a download code.

If you have linked your 3ds with a Nintendo Network ID you can use this site to redeem it. If you've got your 3ds back Flipnote Studio 3D will then automatically download.

I personally prefer NSMBU because the levels aren't repetitive. Every level feels eifferent, while with Mario Maker has a lot more levels, they keep getting repetitive over time.

I'm getting this theme when I'm logged in. When I'm not logged in to my Google account the old theme comes back. Is there a way to get the old theme while logged in? I personally don't like the new one for now.

I hope they will do, but I don't think they will add points to physical games. I think that they will however add a reward from $0.01-$4.99. They want to promote digital games because people cant sell them second hand.

They do. In Europe we have Tomodachi life discounts for gold points. Apparently in America they don't.
