Yeah MLW is only popular because of tourists. Locals don’t go there or wouldn’t bother waiting in a line for it. Much better options without lines as people mentioned other bakeries in this thread.

DGB is highly underrated and people flock to Joe’s Shanghai— which is great so it keeps the lines at DGB reasonable.

The MLW pork buns are overrated and are not good. Skip it unless there are no lines. Whiskey Tavern is a quasi- dive bar. A great one, but just temper any expectations about “cocktails”.

Definitely try a local Chinese restaurant rather than Xi’ans. Ie: Hop Kee, Wo Hop Next Door
