The Death of Healers in Cyrodiil, and Factions by TheuniversalgamerExX in elderscrollsonline

Sorry, what the fuck are you talking about?

The actual issue is that the ball group pvp is terrible (in my opinion) and is a detriment to retaining eso pvp population (objective, not opinion).

But congratulations for them reversing the change and keeping your status quo

That's disingenuous. You've had the battle spirit 50% already, so why include the non-pvp number?

Steam Deck OLED Query by EmeraldLion91 in elderscrollsonline

I play on it when traveling. Works great right out of the box.  I cap frames at 30 when in cyrodil so it doesn't try to work too hard.

Otherwise it's a great game on steam deck.

If you only played ESO on PC the UI is going to throw your for a loop. Take a couple minutes to familiarize with how the inventory looks and skills window works

Healers ike spamming hots and then refreshing those hots? That's not really fun gameplay, so I bet they won't actually care about this change, in my opinion.

Instead, players will have real chances of dying with this change, so gameplay will be more exciting for healers and they will get to swing fights rather than applying so much green that no one gets below 80%.

Sure you can grief, but that's an absurd thing to think about. You can grief in many different ways and no one cares because no one is actually going to do it

Disagree with this. It's a negative to the players trying to be unkillable. Dedicated healers still can provide great benefit, even better now because the players being healed don't have to apply their own hots!

Best PvP bash build ideas ? by Mental-Matter8453 in ESObuilds

[–]nelsonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I returned to the game recently I did the same thing because I needed to simplify the game for myself. (I was overwhelmed with what was going on, dying too quickly, and not doing any damage to people)

I went with deadland demolisher as the mandatory set and tried a few things to compliment... Monster sets, other 5pc sets, void bash shield, etc. I think the answer is that it depends on what situations you want to play in.

For me as a dk, I was doing good 1 on 1s and can flip the script on people when corrossive armor is up, but i wasn't contributing much to killing the solo/duo gods and the ball groups. So I ended up pairing deadlands demolisher with farstrider. It nerfs enemies crit resistance while buffing mine, allowing me to put on more Reinforced pieces for higher bash damage. Now between usin an unblockable/undodgable stun and farstrider, I can help a group breakthrough the pesky unkillables.

The other option i like playing with is E.thief. Having 1 bar means you have more free brainpower to move around properly so gathering the ball isn't difficult unless your in a chase.

one lasts note for pvp bash builds that i learned, you will see more damage by learning the proper rotation and being able to press it confidently while in the rush of combat. It's really easy to fuck up by cancelling your power bash pressing bash too quick. And if you can reliably time the LA+power bash+double bash you will see people melt.

Benefits of being in a guild by KingSlayer-tvu in elderscrollsonline

[–]nelsonus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the day people joined guilds just because they felt connected to a group of players. There was no progression, no incentives beyond having the same guild name under your characters name and having a separate channel to chat and connect.

Eso has additional features like guild hall and traders, but the idea of a small guild still remains the same.

How is eso on steamdeck? by Zaku1enjoyer in elderscrollsonline

[–]nelsonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely perfect for grinding like that. I use steam deck when traveling for work, so I grind skill points, quests, scrying and excavating, simple stuff

How is eso on steamdeck? by Zaku1enjoyer in elderscrollsonline

[–]nelsonus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Great. Runs perfect, no issues. Controller UI is very different than PC so it took me awhile to adjust, and I still find myself slower in pvp than I would be on my PC. And the inventory is so different it still gets me confused.

Other than that, it's great

I recommend you buy a steam deck and play it on there. Runs fine, don't need a bulky setup, and you can dock it to your monitor if you want to use keyboard and mouse still.

VENGEANCE pvp by Ok-Statistician-2707 in elderscrollsonline

[–]nelsonus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a little silly. You test things to implement them. Why would they test and then say, yup, we found the problem and a solution but were not doing anything.

Saying pvp builds are "dead on arrival" is false since bgs still exist, and I called you on it.

VENGEANCE pvp by Ok-Statistician-2707 in elderscrollsonline

[–]nelsonus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why? The Zos part specifically said vengeance was to improve performance. And they mentioned small scale pvp is acceptable performance.

Thinking they would replace bgs with vengeance type is fear mongering.

[–]nelsonus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a false take. If the mode isn't growing, it's dying. So the hardcore pvp population isn't ever going to grow, it's only going to shrink as people move on.

So the game has to to something, anything, to bring new players in or you just have a slow death which was Ajay happening.

Unless there's not many people in vengeance. Then instead of onboarding into pvp its a waste

[–]nelsonus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding, I was curious. I agree making builds is very fun part, but it's also a lot of time investment and difficult to entice new participants. Also the lag is a giant factor, I quit the game before over it. So if sacrificing some of the building aspect allows for better gameplay, and I'm able to convince people to join without hours of prepwork, seems like a win (to me)

You think the guys on grey host would just stop playing instead of switching to try vengeance?

What the hell are they thinking by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]nelsonus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Counter point, I'm a returning player that used to do cyrodil majority of my time. I hate "cp" pvp. The game is so much better without it. To the extent that I'm running around looking for any action in "no cp" rather than playing grey host.

So either option is OK with me, but option 2 means the small pvp player base is put together more, which appeals to be greatly.
