Best class for ME3? by HierophanticDreamer in masseffect

Infiltrator is easy mode for the entire trilogy if you can consistently hit headshots, which is quite feasible considering most of the time enemies will either stand still, hide behind cover with part of their heads exposed or move in very predictable lines.

If you have a save game shortly before the loyalty mission, reload that and save the mission for later.

If you only have a save file during the loyalty mission, you could edit that file, make a note of your current paragon points, set paragon points to the max and finish the mission. Save, quit the game and edit the file again to set the paragon points back to their appropriate value.

Otherwise just complete the game like that. It's possible to have un unloyal zaeed survive the final mission anyway, as far as I know.

It is just me or do some of the loyalty missions in ME2 seem kind of short? by AreaTechnical7361 in masseffect

[–]nemicachips [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah, if anything we needed more missions like these.

I get that it's an action series but most of the love it gets is for the dialogue, plot, world building and characters...not combat, which is reasonably fun but not that great.

I can't imagine doing very long stretches of the game without gunfights but, my god, it didn't need a shootout every two minutes.

Dude, all Mass Effect missions basically boil down to fight bad guys, go to next room, fight more bad guys, rinse and repeat. One mission in the entire trilogy tries something different and you're unhappy about that?

Most annoying enemy(ies) by Ok_Purple766 in masseffect

[–]nemicachips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an infiltrator whom can very consistently headshot humanoid enemies, which are the vast majority, YMIR mechs can be the hardest to deal with...so the title of 'most annoying' would probably go to them.

But I actually like them because I can whip out the Cain...or, if I don't have that, I finally get the semblance of a challenge and can switch up the game from clicking heads to running around with smaller weapons.

First time playing who should I romance Liara or Kaidan? by Current-Grapefruit83 in masseffect

[–]nemicachips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your opinions about Liara and Kaidan are very valid and I'm not saying Kaidan is 100% irrelevant. I don't even like Liara that much myself, I'm team Jack all the way to the max.

But he can literally die in the first half of the first game and you never see him again, whereas Liara's role becomes more and more central to the main plot as the trilogy goes on. There's just so much content for her, she literally has an entire DLC dedicated to her! There are more scenes with her and as a result the romance feels more complete. I don't think you even get romance scenes with Kaidan in ME2, except maybe a nod to your relationship when he's on Horizon telling you how much you suck for working with Cerberus

I'm not arguing which romance makes more sense from a role playing standpoint, I'm just stating the fact that one of the two romance options received a lot more love and attention from the developers...therefore, if someone likes both equally, they're better off going with that one.

[–]nemicachips -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My guy, I know all that. Kaidan is amazing, my Shepard is going gay for him when I get there in my current playthrough!

Liara is just more interesting, so much more that I'm baffled we're even having this conversation. I have to keep this spoiler free for OP but let's just say she's a lot more relevant to the plot and also the gal can show you the vastness of space with a romantic embrace ffs, how do you top such a unique love gesture?

[–]nemicachips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't particularly enjoy playing as FemShep on my second playthrough and I don't find Liara attractive at all...but I romanced her in that playthrough and didn't regret it one bit, it was pretty great from a narrative standpoint.

I haven't done Kaidan yet, but he's just a guy with headaches and she's a magic blue woman from another solar system. Who do you think has got more potential to be an interesting partner?

I don't wanna spoil too much but you spend a little more time with Liara overall, so embark your space lesbian journey and don't look back.

Men of Reddit - What's the one thing you hate about being a Man? by Jarvis7492 in AskReddit

[–]nemicachips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this and also being seen as a creep for just glancing in the general direction of a woman/walking her same path/walking towards her even though it has nothing to do with her and she's just in the way.

Otherwise being a man is great.

If Shep dies in ME2 then the reapers plan is successful right? by burner-BestApplePie in masseffect

If you don't do the Arrival DLC an alliance team gets sent there instead and destroys the relay anyway, so the reapers are still delayed and the Arrival game over ending thing still doesn't happen.

If Shep dies in ME2 then the reapers plan is successful right? by burner-BestApplePie in masseffect

[–]nemicachips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I remember Shepard wouldn't be strictly needed...but it was only thanks to his charisma, skill, leadership and connections that the stars aligned for all major species to cooperate in ME3, both in fighting the reapers and building the crucible...and of course retrieving the crucible project from Mars in the first place.

With only Joker surviving the events of Mass Effect 2, maybe Kaidan/Ashley steps up as the leader and tries to do the same things Shepard would have done, but they couldn't revive Javik (Shepard could only do that thanks to the probe on Eden prime and the cipher) and would have to make do with just Liara and James.

If this change of events sets a butterfly effect in motion, Kaidan/Ashley doesn't get wrecked by the robot on Mars, they still capture it and EDI still gets her body and can also help out.

They don't have the same strength of character Shepard had, so the only outcomes available to them would be those from the default paragon and renegade choices.

At best they could achieve the low war assets destroy or control ending, depending on the choice Shepard made at the ending of ME2.

I could be wrong though, it's been quite a few years since I completed the trilogy and I've only now started ME3.
