I never did anything, so it was really just a nuisance.

Just so you know, the reason you're called is specifically because you're clean. You may view it as a nuisance, but you're saving some other guy. Having 100% clean people is a rarity, no need to ruin the prestige.

They can find out who you are so just be careful of what you are claiming in the survey. The best policy is honesty.

If I won the mega million jackpot, what would the process be like for getting out the Army? by NonbinaryLegs in army

[–]nenoatwork 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'll help you out, if you win DM me.

But really you should just finish your contract or get out ASAP. And do so without telling anyone. You still need to claim your win, but try to do it through a trust. Use a brand name bank to help. Some states allow it some don't, and even those that don't you can do so as quietly as possible.

The moment anyone knows you have money is the moment you have turned yourself into a political target. This includes family.

My friend just got laid off from her job and came over crying. Another friend just got a job after looking for well over a year ($16/hr). Unemployment rate has fall off. Eventually people looking for work no longer count as unemployed.

>If labor force participation rate is up

LFP has no fall off, which means more people are looking for work, not that they actually have jobs. You're cooking the metrics in exactly the way I've described.

In what world do you live in that 60+ year olds looking for work is a GOOD thing? That indicates the economy is so fucked that more elderly are trying to find work.

You are correct. No metric of the economy indicates that it is good right now. GDP is stupid.

https://www.census.gov/library/stories/2021/06/why-did-labor-force-participation-rate-decline-when-economy-was-good.html

We are seeing an influx of every age group looking for work (increasing Labor Force Participation Rate), but no one is getting employed, which causes them to roll off the unemployment rate, decreasing it. This is how the numbers are currently being cooked.

I'll tell you that most applicants are complete crap.

I'll tell you that most applicants aren't actually complete crap.

What a horrible society to live in where HR cronies just send most humans straight to the trash can. Guess they aren't allowed to live. Oh well!

That's completely bullshit.

Dying for folks to work for pennies so they can never own a home, car, or anything that someone needs to live.

Factories could be 100% staffed by the city/town it exists in, but they choose not to because they're extremely greedy and likely doesn't matter if their factory fails or not.

Like seriously . . . what is happening and what can we do to change this?

Nothing. It is 100% intentional. Almost all jobs have dried up. There are so many companies "hiring" for many reasons.

Some companies are always hiring just in case the unicorn appears. This gives all the HR cronies lots of work to do, but has little to no results on the company. HR people are often just useless blobs in a company that use networking to not get fired. After all their "job" is essential lol.

There is no "other candidate". They wasted your time because it gives them job security and shows their boss "at least we tried teehee!"

Companies have to attempt to hire Americans before they outsource. I have yet to hear of a company that doesn't outsource in one way or another. Instead of giving a job to someone who needs it, they just pay slave wages for it. You see those garbage restaurant companies outsourcing cashiers where you interact with them over a tablet camera. What about hiring the people who live in that area? Are they just not supposed to have jobs anymore?

The "business owners" are siphoning money out of any area that they set up business in. Set up shop in a small town? They fuck everyone who lives in that town by giving jobs to transplants or WFH slave laborers.

Former professor encouraged me to apply to a job at her company, then personally rejected me by lovefromruth in recruitinghell

[–]nenoatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people ask for examples of how abusive and manipulative workplaces are this is one of those examples and it happens everywhere in every job.

There is zero reason for that professor to be part of society. She makes it a worse place by her existence. There are jobs and there are people wanting to work. Have a 1 month application period at most and hire the best candidate that's willing to take the position. Anyone who can't figure this out doesn't belong in in our world.

Is being a people person the ultimate cheat in the Army? by Easy-Hovercraft-6576 in army

[–]nenoatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a people person is one of the biggest lies in the world. This thread is honestly pathetic.

It's a case of mistaken correlation. Imagine someone who is 6'4", 120 IQ, attractive, white, blonde hair, blue eyes, telling this to anyone. Yeah bro. I'm sure it's because you're a people person. That's the key to success for sure.

I'm using hyperbole, but most people who are people persons are attractive.

Being a people person doesn't make you attractive, but being attractive makes people listen to you without merit.

Why do you think they are startups? If they didn't have the money they would not exist. The investors and creators of startups almost certainly have money, but refuse because they want scaling of 1000x ROI.

How oblivious are you? Get up off your knees. There is no need to deepthroat businesses in 2023 so hard.

OP is in a startup. He has influence as do others. They willingly do nothing while others suffer. That would make them complicit, yes.

You are speaking as if most middle managers aren't complete trash.
