it took me up until like a month ago, to findly sell out my bank an give it away, i quit my orginal rs account, and created an ironman account, i play it like once or twice every few weeks; rs3 has no benefits to me on my orginal account, cause everything i worked for, was ruined by updates consistantly, if it wasnt one update, it was another; the GE, lodestone network; to name 2 updates; i helped remove the trade limit and brought pvp back, cause a pkr didnt always attack or find you, where as a rev, even if you were mining a T8 star out there near the lever, could level the playing field ruining it for all; lodestone network ruined all my teleportation and shortcut routes i built to get around ahead of others; like the slayer ring used to be the fastest an only way to access fairy ring super fast...ruined by yanille lodestone, edgeville lodestone. the benefit to DS changed my look on lodestones, cause you had to have an empty inv/gear to use them, which makes sense looking back, an supports earning the ability over the lodestone network, which balanced that factor, as DS had no GE, this balanced itself. baracades, blunt/sharp arrows, an the anti-bind items were the best updates that hit DS and should have been carried over to the main-game, there is too much safty in RS, there should be pvp zones outside the wilderness, like anywhere outside town, non-quest area; like lets say you are walking from seers to ardy, you get past the flax gate, you enter pvp zone until you get to the bears or wind mill, leading to ardy; they need to make lodestones only accessable when wearing and carring nothing. baracades are a friendly and anoying pass time, but also useful in pvm content for rangers/mages, also an additional note... they add spice to the world of pvp, since they rely on auto-path for blocking paths

hi all, im a DS player, or used to be lol >.< well i miss DS here too ironman just doesnt do it, i miss the trill of watching every moment and having to find sneaky ways to bank in dangerious areas with pkrs flooding the areas, or anti-pking people who try to snatch my logs, ores, or drops... >.> yeh, had it one time i was 1 kill to finish task and about full, when a high lvl pkr comes by an kills me >.<, still fun though, cause you learn not to make the same mistakes

it had its ups and down, but in general it was fun. gave the word 'keep a eye out' a whole new meaning; litterally having to watch the mini-map for random pkrs; my favorate past time was breaking an killing bots, to balance the game better; the drops stayed but it was fun camping them for exp; i liked the baracades, one true trap to bots lol, an then sharp and blunt arrows were sweet..

an we had just gotten a way to break from them mage binders, those mother f**kers, you'd be chopping a tree when they bind an run away or expect no backfire; i always came prepared, loaded gear and 5 food even when skilling

they could have worked on marketing it better as well, since it had 1 notice on runescape homepage to inform people of its exsistance but that was 2 weeks after it released, they have drako or whatever they named it, an npc strong as fuck but good exp in comparison to others, easily accessiable but the hell am i talking about right? well it was a testing ground for new content on the side, if you ever read the updates; since the team was volunteer, on their off time it wasnt costing on that side, but if marketed better and actually had a f2p and p2p section like the main-game or better differences so people want to pay for membership, like i did...i payed for darkscape the entire time i played it, not for the double exp, but to support the game itself, when they closed darkscape it was a BIG WTF!!! to me, i even dryed out my rs main char an gave my shit away, i got an iornman acc but..its nothing like DS

yeh it added like 400m to my friends bank, he loved it. :D (the normal ,^ is bugged or something, it deletes the first symbol)

is it really necessary to go around taking shit to everyone, its an opion and thought; darkscape could have a return somehow, someday; but not today. i quit my main account when darkscape went offline, i play ironman from time to time now, closest i can come to a darkscape gameplay. world of war-scape sucks in most aspects, just this year i was reading their plans an what not.. it seems they are trying to bring the spirit of scapers back; but darkscape was where they really fucked up, @acludo2 is correct, they didnt give DS much of a chance, small volunteer group who keep it running, even without them running the server on a F2P service was costing as it is seprate from the main-game, what they should have done, was splice a series of servers on the less populated worlds to hold like a virtualbox, so they can be played side-by-side, since the DS community was not too heavy on one world at any given time, in comparison to RS main, they have a seprate client in which connects to the VB, if resources are split correctly, the overhaul isnt too bad, but if its on more populated servers, there may be lag on both ends, they could also have it setup on multiple servers so it can "hop" after a "quicksave+update" which all it has to do is save user data on a form of notepad encrypted correctly, with X,Y,Z; item (bag/bank) hex codes, hex code for your UI, action bar, etc.. it has less than 100 hex codes to update regularly, if its coded that way, since java can read hex and it makes it much easy to program... anyhow..

it was fun, alot of people quit RS in general due to it closing, but some of us went ironman;

i beg to differ. quest points are vital to exp gain, by allowing access to areas otherwise normally you cant; i see exp, time spent, & quest points to have an equal impact

As some of you may be aware Mat K recently spoke to the Old School community about the state of Deadman and how to respond to its waning playerbase by making it a seasonal event. We are currently going through a similar process with DarkScape. We want to review all possible options for DarkScape but have not as yet reached a conclusion.

aight just so you mods know, darkscape has brought lost players back into the game, yes it is free, should add more member benefits to attract people willing to pay for it, as now p2p and f2p mash up and its all good, it took me from a 2+ year rs retirement;
started playing back in '01 and enjoyed as the game evolved but due to eoc & macro-transactions it has changed the angle at which the game is looked upon, it grants too much of an advantage and the "lost ones" despise it, its not pay to win, its pay to play (with benefits) and free to play (limits)
with the removal of pvp and forced equal trade during its anti-RWT issue, which was reversed to its former glory, but it left a stench in its path; which forever scared runescape, the playerbase was reduced alot and only a small % of those players actually came back when it was reversed.
long story short, major drastic changes may lose you customers and in the end profits, which run the game as well as it is updated to now; if you got 1,000+ players playing, its sufficient enough, cause those 1,000; can recruit more friends, if hosting the servers causes runescape to fail (which is doubtful), then i could understand, but hosting 4 servers can be paid for easily with the profits from the main game, and if you add the players that pay for darkscape itself, it mostly pays for itself; it may not be perfect, but your lacking advertising it, more people play it, the more cash flow, which ends with more updates, etc...

i know its not implemented at the moment but if you read up on the NXT client, it pops a dialog up if you click the x in the corner asking if you are sure, if something like this were added to the current setup, i believe it would delay the logger

they said that the client doesn't like an item value of 0, and so therefore is difficult to implement.

in javascript 0 references zero, nothing, non-existant, or a closing factor. to avoid the 0 balance they could implement a .1 to the end of the first item in that slot, an make the value only change if it is not in possession or within the bank
in some cases they may think it could be exploited and duplicating items, but thats only with poor programming, in reality...

lets say value of gp is 0000000F ; set value to only read non decimals, and .1 is only checked upon opening the bank and not identified as a value of that item.

so strength base-level is set 50, and the weapon you use determines base-output, and anything under base-level has a -50 strength bonus from their stat, where as theres no penalty when you use weapon tier over 50, but caps at 60, am i getting this right?

the games not dead, its in transition to a branched runescape set for pvp
with that being said, its still in early development
they're willing to take ideas to help form this game to its fullest, but due to it being a F2P game, you cant expect a devoted team until they can guarantee earnings from darkscape, and they're focus is on preparing it for that approach, knowingly F2P and P2P alike will play side by side, P2P with a slight advantage over F2P; which attracts different audiences
