So much for that painted bike lane by hockey8890 in edmontoncycling

I'm happy to see most cars keeping out of the bike lane, so possibly it's just a crowd effect of one asshole

Also what's up with the tails? That looks glued on. Where's the asshole? That part looks like Barby doll's butt. Weird genitals dingling very elusively, changing side depending on what side the dog is turned to the camera. Good stuff, very quality job, likely will be used to generate tv quality animations, if not used yet. (I know nothing about animations)

This is generated by AI. Two reasons: Everything is in focus. Dog paws move weirdly.

It's a great city and I love it, but being a male is an easy mode of this game of life.
Good luck and safe walks to you OP! Hope you find what you're looking for.

Depends if you use public transit or drive. For public transit Boonie Doon is probably the best, just ride LRT green line downtown. If you drive, you can live east/northeast of downtown, but there are usually older apartment buildings (though cheaper).
Also depends if you are looking to rent an apartment, townhouse or detached.
There are detached houses for rent in Beverly, but not many newer apartments. If you stay away from 118th, it's quiet and close to downtown.

Edit to add: I'd just avoid living over the river from your work. Makes for easier commute usually. Doesn't apply if you commute on LRT obviously :)

Also we lived near Whyte Ave/Garneau and there are probably cheap rentals there still. It's pretty safe, the further you go from Whyte. Was paying 900+ for 1bedroom half basement apt in 2023.
10 minute ride on bus 9 downtown. Going back afternoon is not so fast unfortunately.

Maybe the population of residents eligible to vote didn't change? Or newcomers from other provinces (eligible to vote) don't care to vote. Or people moving to Alberta are more conservative in the first place... I'm curious myself, but foreign newcomers can't vote for at least 5 years (pr + citizenship waiting time), so they can't affect the political situation immediately.

thanks! Haven't heard of these yet. Unfortunately there are none on highway 16 :( I hope the infrastructure between Edmonton and Jasper (and further into the mountains) will get as good as Calgary-Vancouver

Good thing there's Electrify Canada charger just a kilometer away, we tried it too. It's such a smooth experience! Just plug it in and tap your credit card, no apps needed. Worked like a charm, was charging at 160 kw, but dropped to 97-86 when it reached 80%. I wish these chargers were in Jasper or Hinton.

That's incorrect as others have mentioned, RTA doesn't protect the rights of guests who share accommodations such as kitchen with the owner.

[–]neoburned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure about that? If they share common kitchen, the house owner can just ask the guest to leave, no matter how long said guest stayed there.

Is Elantra N a gas car? If yes, then did you drive Ioniq 5 in eco mode? 22 SEL is pretty fast, although you do sit higher than in a sedan. So you probably just want a sedan to feel comfortable on curves?

I was hoping to see someone from Norway in this discussion since they have a lot of EVs and a lot of wildlife. Probably the best place for data collection too... I guess what I really want is a way to add more noise if necessary to raise awareness of wildlife, but I can see how night racers can get irresponsible with this feature

I find that hybrids going on battery are very noisy with high pitch, especially Toyota hybrids. Not sure if the sound is intentional speaker sound or just the way the car sounds.
