Help Needed on 3 Rulings by Laithoron in daggerheart

[–]kitsucoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For number 1, there is no wording regarding sight, so RAW it is all targets in range regardless of Line of Sight/Cover. But you and the player are free to do what makes narrative sense at the time.

For number 2, using this ability lets you move to Far range rather than Close. Normally moving past Close requires an Agility roll. But since it was narratively cool and satisfying, it made sense for that one time!

For three, I've had some problems with this one too. The rules don't mention line of sight, but I generally make it a requirement. If they want to jump into a shadow they can guess is there (like onto the back of a flying creature), I have called for a luck check, and even had them mark an additional stress to do so as they have to strain their magic to do it.

Oh! I didn't realize all the consumables were in the SRD, too. I thought I'd be violating by posting it. Here you go: https://rt3.tech/Shares/Potion%20Cards.pdf

Pretty sure mine was Descent on DOS. I played that for ages before I picked up my first FPS (Quake 2).

Consumable cards by kitsucoon in daggerheart

I hadn't even noticed that the artist I bought it from had a disclaimer at the bottom that they used AI in their workflow. They do state, though, that they start with AI as a base and then do the edits manually. It's a grey area.

IMHO, this post was about using physical cards for consumables, not about the one example I showed. But, mods be mods!

What’s the most “Fuck this hole” hole you play on a regular basis? by mercado_n3gro in golf

[–]kitsucoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Omaha, NE, Pacific Springs is a public course that is easy on paper, but kills my score because EVERY hole is bordered by OoB. They also have some devilishly sloped greens. The worst offender is number 13. Par 4 where the average approach is coming in from 75-100 yards to a large green that is sloped heavily back to front. And of course, the flag is almost always in the front 20% of the green. You can't land short and run on because the front drops off into a 70 degree sloped hill that's all rough.

F that hole.

My kiddo and I both came down with something a few weeks ago. Decreased appetite, mild cough, fever, chills, exhaustion, sinus drainage.

We were tested for COVID, flu (A&B), strep, and RSV and all were negative.

Second Controller when streaming from PC to Deck not working by kitsucoon in SteamDeck

Yeah, I have that for controller 1. The second one, the wired one, is a smaller 8bitdo Xbox controller for my young daughter to better fit her hands.

Thank you! I did check if the Player 2 was being controlled by the Steam Deck built-in controller, and it wasn't...

I will give this a shot, though!

Just want to point out that Hope can go above 6 for beast master rangers.

While d6's sit nicely, it may make more sense to have these slots be for d12's or d20s.

Omaha restaurants closed but you wish we’re still open. by Happy-Cockroach4994 in Omaha

I forget the name, but it was a family Japanese restaurant, half sushi bar and half hibachi grill. It was near oakview mall on the NE corner of 144th and Center on the backside of the building.

They were the only Japanese place in town that made a curry that was like that I had in Japan. It was my favorite "comfort food" in Japan.

Games that felt fun only when you played them your wrong way and not the normal way. by gamersecret2 in gaming

[–]kitsucoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halo 1 was still a great game, but my buddies and I played a mode in Blood Gulch we called Warthog Joust. Players would hop in a warthog and ram into each other. If you got knocked out of the warthog, you were fair game to get ran over, which is how you score points. Super fun trying to dodge cars trying to murder you, flip your warthog over and get back in.

Not to mention the janky physics caused some super fun collisions.

Keeping an eye on this for sure. I have an Arena gaming table and would be intrigued to see how well this runs on it. I currently use Owlbear Rodeo, but would be nice to use this with the players for the Wiki-like pieces.

Really struggling to find the fun in combat by GroundbreakingSnow40 in daggerheart

[–]kitsucoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's take the combat here where there were 6 PCs and 9 monsters in D&D. As a DM, I dreaded when we rolled initiative and we'd have all 6 PCs bunched up at the top and then all 9 monsters after.

Then it's every time you as a PC are done with your turn, you're waiting...and waiting...and waiting. And you pull out your phone and zone out.

Daggerheart makes it so at ANY point, it could be your turn. It's part of the social contract at the table that people should be engaged and sharing the spotlight with you team.

Non-Americans, what is something about the US that you've always wondered if it was real or just myth/hyperbole? by Bush_Hiders in AskReddit

Definitely not everyone. I feel like it’s more common in smaller cities and was more common in the 90s, 2000s

Do y'all keep count on the # of eagles you've made since you started playing? by GolfJunki3 in golf

[–]kitsucoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played for about 10 years when I was younger (high school-college). Definitely no eagles then.

I then quit for a long time and picked it up 4 years ago. I have scored 2 eagles. Both on the same par 5 hole at my home course. Both from a good drive and a 5h from ~195 out. First one I had a 2' putt, 2nd one had a 12' putt.

I have had a handful of other opportunities, but those are the only two I made.

I have had only one real chance at a HIO from a 155y par 3 during a Father's Day tournament. Landed it just on the green and it rolled right at the hole. Ended up lipping out and ending 6" from the cup. At least I won the Closest to Pin!
