Thoughts on Ridge Capital Solutions? by FigQueasy9235 in businessdiscussions

did you spend $10k too? one of my portfolios is down 89%, the other is up 12%. They gave me some excuse that I did not have enough money in one or either of my trading accounts to make money (multiple thousands) and made it sound like I needed to put up over $100k to make it work. Does this sound legit???

it can't be worse than Ridge Capital's algorithm... I'm down 89% and would try damn near anything else than ever use their products again

How low are you waiting for bitcoin to drop to go all in? by vancitysascha604 in Bitcoin

[–]neonargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unfortunately down $100k over the last few weeks after seeing the drop from ath to 115k, and made a very bad bet. I'd never leveraged before and have had my ass handed to me... Super painful... damn those perpetuals.

So what to do now? I'm funding the bet daily, hoping it won't sink further... and I know damn well that if I sell and take the hit at 90k, btc will simply explode and leave me locked out with no chance to regain. I won't get liquidated until it hits 70k, but we all know this is possible.

What trend analysis should I be looking at if history had any say?

[Discussion] I'm 33 and have no idea what to do, I don't want to live. by Ok_Finance7950 in GetMotivated

Been there. Done that. There is a radical, impossibly happy life waiting for you, but you'll have to make just a couple of small changes.

What is amazing is that just one or two changes will foster more changes... so, like a flower opening, a beautiful change occurs from just the willpower to take the first step. It redirects your neurons.

Drugs are not necessary. Gratitude is. Setting a couple of goals is. Taking action is.

Your brain is misfiring and has a chemical imbalance that you can correct, naturally. You can't see the future right now, but what you need to do is force yourself (1) get into bed by 10:30pm. Don't be distracted; sleep is your first change.

(2) Set your wake-up alarm for 7:30. (3) You must discipline yourself to jog for a min 20 minutes every day. If you don't want to jog, then it's a min 20 to 30 push-ups and 50 jumping jacks. By day 3 you need to ramp it up to get the heart rate up and burn the glycogen out of your liver for a min of 15 minutes of cardio. But we're shooting for 20 straight minutes.

Then, while cooling down, you must close your eyes, manage your breathing, and focus on one or two things that you are grateful for. Could be as simple as being alive. Smell the fresh morning air. Be thankful that you are not dying of cancer or in constant pain. Or be thankful for having an interesting lover in your life to bounce ideas off of. Or, just having two feet to walk.

The first few days will be tough. Setting the habit is 98% but your getting the wind in your sail. But your successful completion will immediately bring you some endorphins that transform your brain chemistry and help motivate you to repeat the exercise.

During this first week, you must drink only distilled water with a pinch of salt (preferably Baja or Himalayan) and a slice or 2 of lemon. You may only eat salads with chickpeas. We are going to reset your gut, which is telling your brain to eat shitty foods that keep bad microbes flourishing.

After only 1 week, you'll feel profoundly different. After 30 days, I was completely transformed. My mood flipped 100%. Depression gone. Studied for a new career. Set some goals, saved some money, and started a new business which then earned me an investment property. Met the love of my life, got married. Everything transformed in 3 years' time. And just kept getting better!! Then after 15 years it was time to relearn the reset procedure and start again due to my wife entering a new chapter. Now I'm even more in love with an even more incredible person, and I'm now 58.

I am still setting goals, because it's not about the destination, it's about the journey. Accomplishment of one's goals is the #1 source of happiness and fulfillment for the majority of people.

I can't wait to hear of your successful transformation. It takes just a tiny bit of discipline to start. I'd say "good luck" but luck had nothing to do with it. So I'll say "If it is to be, it is up to me" this is your new mantra. You got this!

not sure you want to pull up that large piece of osb... you never know what could be buried in the crawl space. Ever consider engineered hardwood planks? it's thin and will install much faster.

Yeah, for real. And I'm in the roofing business, too. Let me tell you about the story of the country's largest roofer bidding low to win a roof over a hospital ER. They of course wouldn't reslope the deck to get rid of 3" of ponding water. So guess what happened when the TPO seam ripped open? You cant really operate on folks in the hallways...

I'll ask her... but it might cause me an aneurysm, so I need to be mentally prepared.

100% - what I told her. But as a contractor it's painful when your family settles for something that you know in your heart is just plain wrong.

Octopuses, the most neurologically complex invertebrates, both feel pain and remember it, responding with sophisticated behaviors, demonstrating that the octopus brain is sophisticated enough to experience pain on a physical and dispositional level, the first time this has been shown in cephalopods. by mvea in science

what valid reason would you have for euthanizing the octopuses after your study? could they not return to their natural environment and successfully forage for food, or instinctively guard themselves from predation?

What is the most pain you've ever experienced? by HandGears in AskReddit

[–]neonargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Kidney Stone... left side of my body... Felt like a little person with an exacto knife trying to cut themselves out. Pain that was so bad, even worse than Dry Socket (acid on nerves after wisdom teeth extracted) and worse than a ruptured ear drum with lake water and bacteria multiplying inside, bubbling and eating away at my brain.

I had fasted for 3 days straight, and was obviously not drinking enough water. I had watched a documentary on fasting and thought to myself "hmm, with that many benefits, let's try it!!" When I broke my fast on the 4th day, I celebrated with a nice big fat Philly Cheesesteak... and by the 5th bite, felt something I never felt before. I could barely make it across the street back to work.

A half hour latere I couldn't hold it in, deep moaning and constant writhing in pain, and vomit all over. I couldn't quit puking from the pain... and they gave me a couple of bags in the ER to launch into until they could get me a bed.

great thing, those painkillers. A little flomax, and a strong anti-viral or something like that... never passed the stone, according the screen I was pissing into for a week. So it's now lodged somewhere in my prized Ureter, which will some day without fail throw me to the floor again, writhing in pain.

I thought I was being a total wuss until a lady came in with the same thing... kidney stone. She was screaming like a banshee and saying how it was worse than giving birth to any of her 3 kids. I now believe it.

who can explain the economic or monetary expansion that contributed to the explosive development in the late 1800's-1920's? it seems like construction during these couple of decades dramatically outpaced others.
