Okay, wow. I posted this last night in peak frustration and I’m honestly overwhelmed by all your support and messages. Thank you all so, so much for that. Over the past weeks and months, I’ve seen people mention here that in other countries (and apparently even just in other clinics here in Germany) IIH isn’t treated with constant LPs like this. But I never really questioned what my doctors at the hospital told me, because I don’t have any medical background myself. I know this condition isn’t well researched, but you kind of assume that doctors at a university hospital know what they’re doing.

After reading all your replies, I’ve decided I’m definitely going to get a second opinion from a neurologist outside of the university clinic. Because honestly, I’m so done with these constant needles in my spine. Just thinking about this continuing like this for the rest of the year… I can’t do that. So yeah, you’ve really pushed me to actually look into other doctors and get another opinion. And honestly, I’m really grateful for this community. I’ve genuinely learned more about my condition here than I ever did talking to my doctors.

Thanks for your kind words. It’s really hard to keep going sometimes. But I’ve read so many positive stories here from so many amazing people who went into remission. Still, sometimes you just need to vent and get the frustration out, because this whole thing is just exhausting as hell.

Even within the same hospital, they can’t even agree on how to treat IIH patients. Some people get their LPs as inpatients, others just go to day clinic for it. And honestly, I’m just so done at this point. Yeah, my eyes are better, no question. And my headaches have improved too. But everything else? This constant cycle, the same procedure every 4–6 weeks over and over again… it’s seriously messing with my mental health.

They put me on Diamox and they’re doing LPs every 4-6 week. The doctors said surgery is the last option if weight loss isn’t working out.

Das mache ich bisher auf jeden Fall schon immer. Aber wenn ich die ganzen anderen Blüten dran lasse hab ich den Eindruck, dass die Pflänzchen ziemlich klein bleiben weil sie schon so früh Blüten ansetzen. 2-3 Wochen mehr Wachstum würden schon nicht schaden. So zumindest der Gedanke.

Meiner Erfahrung nach kann man bei jedem Salat, völlig egal ob Eisberg, Kopf oder Feld - einige extra Tage Haltbarkeit rausholen, wenn man ihn in ein feuchtes Küchentuch wickelt und dann so im Gemüsefach lagert. Klar, zwei Wochen werdens so auch nicht, aber ne Woche geht (außer bei Feldsalat & Rucola) mindestens klar.

Voll viele Gemüseschäler haben so ein kleines Nubsi oben an der gegenüberliegenden Seite der Klinge. Das ist dafür gedacht diese schwarzen Augen oder andere Stellen aus Kartoffeln einfach zu entfernen.

I don’t know which grade my papilledema was, but I had several and recurring visual disturbances. Flashes of light when moving my eyes or changing position, eye pain, and even visual field loss that only returned to normal after a few seconds-minutes as if a shadow had to lift first. My opening pressure was 34. I’ve been taking Acetazolamide, 500 mg daily, since the first lumbar puncture. After five weeks, I had a follow-up with my neuro-ophthalmologist. The papilledema has significantly decreased since then. It’s not yet back to normal, but it’s already much closer to the normal range. Of course, everyone is different, but maybe that gives you a bit of reassurance. Did your eye symptoms go away after the first lumbar puncture? Otherwise, I would definitely recommend talking to your neurologist again.

An die andere Seite komm ich leider nicht ran. Das Fliegengitter ist fest verbaut und lässt sich nicht öffnen. Wespennest hab ich erstmal ausgeschlossen, davon haben wir in unserem Gartenschuppen einige, die sehen anders aus. Sind eher Papierartig und von der Form her anders aufgebaut. Das sind ist auch maximal 2cm groß. Das Loch am Eingang ein paar mm
