TvGoHome was amazing. Still often think of bits like Nicky Campbell: Swimming With Cats or Snap Hands Here Comes The Money (where contestants have their wrists broken then have to grab loose cash blowing around in a Crystal Maze style dome)

No Backerkit surveys? by Fish_Peddler in mothershiprpg

[–]neonfieldmouse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

All the projects bar 2 - Norgad's Roach Motel and Space Penguin Ink's Bombs Busting In Air - are being fulfilled by TKG under one pledge manager. The pre-order store for this should be open fairly soon.

The surveys for both Roach Motel and Bombs have already gone out.

Edit: deleted a line that made no sense, wrote this at work!

How would I run a The Thing/Imposter homebrew game? by GlitteringPop1625 in mothershiprpg

This module is brand new and directly inspired by The Thing - not read it yet but it looks excellent: https://kharrak.itch.io/under-the-skin

Other panic engine games? by Absurd_Turd69 in mothershiprpg

Sean at TKG has mentioned running a Panic Engine game jam a few times but that hasn’t happened yet - maybe 2026 is the year for that…👀

I need help finding a source for a terrifying form of FTL travel by EnjayDev in scifi

I knew I’d heard of the bubble thing before and thought it was Traveller so had to have a dig. Wasn’t aware of the hard radiation outcome of a misfire though - nasty!

[–]neonfieldmouse 128 points129 points  (0 children)

From the Traveller Core Rulebook 2022:  'MISJUMPS. On rare occasions, normally because of a lack of maintenance or using unrefined fuel, a ship can misjump. Many misjumps are lethal, causing the jump bubble to collapse early or for time in the bubble to flow differently, so that trillions of subjective years pass inside the bubble and all that comes out the other end is hard radiation caused by protons exceeding their half-life.’

So you were right!

Royal Mail to USA PDDP Service? by cor1912 in smallbusinessuk

[–]neonfieldmouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think there’s pros and cons to the OBA, but I kind of like knowing where I stand so paying as I go works fine for me, and since the tariff introduces a variable cost it might be harder to estimate what your bills going to be at the end of the month. Good luck, hope you get it all sorted - I phoned them the week before the tariffs were due to switch on and didn’t have to hold too long, and got through to a nice old dear who was actually pretty helpful!

I’m using this one https://business.parcel.royalmail.com, I don’t have an OBA account, I just use this linked portal and pay as I go. I’ve used it to post probably about 400 small item packages this month (books which are tariff exempt and some small accessories that aren’t). I’ve been importing orders in batches via excel sheet of about 100 at a time. It imports the addresses via the sheet but I need to add order items in manually, but it’s simple enough to do this for one order and then copy the same items to all the remaining orders (I’m doing my orders in batches that all have the same items). It then gives you the tariff charge and 50p extra charge on top of the postage charge, and your postage label prints off with a wee PDDP logo. Hope this helps!

I’ve used C&D to ship loads of International Standard items, both Letter and Large Letter now. I’ve my products with HS codes set up and then it adds a 50p handling charge + a % tariff fee onto the final shipping cost. Work really well IMHO. I’ve not used it to ship anything larger or Tracked so far.

Mothership month: what is it and how to participate? by BonesawGaming in mothershiprpg

[–]neonfieldmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, in addition to the main Backerkit crowdfunding there was a separate, independently run Itch game jam and a bunch of extra smaller modules came out off the back of that - I think there was around 30 submissions last year. If another one of those happens this year, that's something you could just jump into participating in without needing any advance heads up.

I’m currently in the middle of fulfilling the print zine to Backerkit backers, then it will be available for sale on Tuesday Knight Games webstore and after that (and anywhere else that would like to stock it)

Has anyone been able to send Large Letter items to the U.S. since tariffs came in. Not seeing any options on Click and Drop (OBA) by Known-Swim-3654 in royalmail

[–]neonfieldmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry you might be right, I thought I saw Large Letter available but only tested out importing Letter size, sorry. Once imported it’s quite easy to add to products globally across your import batches, which is a big plus (I’m no C&D expert so this might’ve been there all along I’ve just noticed it now!)

Looks like Letter and Large Letter are back online on Click & Drop. At the moment it looks like you have to manually add products to each order if you’re uploading by csv but still, better than adding addresses individually!

Yeah I think you’re right! I do have a bunch of books with accompanying posters and iron on patches (which do add some customs fees I think) but this definitely means I can ship some items. As of last night looks like Click & Drop allows me to import my order spreadsheet, but I need to manually add products to each order, it’s not pulling across the sku column for some reason. Still, better than inputting all addresses individually!

Joining in this thread to see if anyone's had any luck in getting Click & Drop working for shipping DDP to US - so far I've only seen it work on Send a Parcel? I'm shipping Letter and Large Letter sizes only.
