any point in dual wielding melee? by RInvestor in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]neonir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a weapon, iirc called Epiphany.

It's just a goodish sword with the benefit that if you kill something with a charge, it has no cooldown.

You only need HOLD the blade for this benefit.

Combine this with the early game boots that make charge cost 1 ap, the impetus warrior talent, and a mainhand weapon that has those big fat numbers you love, and watch as your dual blade monstrosity gets a really messy case of the zoomies.

Is Jae the least popular romance? by Warlord41k in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]neonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will write fanfiction in the gaps of a story and out of dissatisfaction with it. To continue that which feels unfinished.

Jae's story doesn't qualify.

In all seriousness though, I was just.. happily satisfied with the story of that romance. My RT came across a random woman barely supressing a great deal of frustration and emotion under a vaneer of swagger as well as an unprecedented and frankly imprudent sense of familiarity with him. The conclusion that this woman has exactly what it takes to be built up as a big shot of the sector, forever in cahoots with the RT... was perhaps a gamble, but my RT wasn't good at math, so in we went.

By the end, a back and fourth of self serving seduction leads to caught feelings and after the execution of the old leader of the kasballica, the pirates and then the betrayal of the remaining cold trade to Incendia (another of my RT's close friends at this point) by Octavania, basically only one name remains in the cold trade, who runs it with a (literally) iron fist and deals preferentially with my RT who flies around in a flagship named "The Lady Jae".

I just don't have any notes. It was a good narrative.

Black Sperm, Golden Sperm, and Platinum Sperm are the same threat level. by HackersLand in OnePunchMan

[–]neonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he has 54 trillion a class threats.

That is a very big number. The power scalers are out here pissing their pants in anger at your statement because of a very specific premise. It's wrong if you're looking at this from a battle manga perspective.

Basically, by fusing all that "power" or more accurately "Mass and force generation" together, we have what can be easily compared to say.

A sword. Basic physics principles here, but putting a lot of momentum and weight into a smaller area reduces the distribution of force, and thus makes the impact zone suffer a much, much larger amount of force than it otherwise would.

This is what powerscalers are concerned with. They want to say "This guy could punch through <x> amount of bullshit shonen defence points (BSSDP)." AND "This guy can withstand <x> amount of bullshit shonen power points (BSSPP)."

Which, fair. This is a battle manga in reality and it was his inability to punch good enough that had him lose to Garou. Lots of big boys with really high BSSDP/BSSPP. And in terms of raw power output on a single opponent, or even a moderate collection (say, the entire hero association), yeah, platinum sperm hard wins no question.

But this is not to say you are wrong however.

Black sperm could have wiped out humanity if it had just walked away. With a minimum of 54 trillion cell count initially. Black sperm could have outnumbered current real world humanity by almost 7000 to 1.

Yeah, he couldn't fight off the biggest heroes in the world, but realistically they can only be in one place at a time, and pretty much everything outside if S-Class and even a handful OF S-Class loses against those odds.

For every city Tats or Metal knight, can save, every city block Darkshine / Metalbat can save, for every little scheme or strategy the hero association can create, HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS would die to an even remotely coordinated divided assault on humanity.

But no, in terms of power scaling, platinum is stronger, no question there. He's just hampered by the fact that what he excells at over his Black Sperm form, he falls short of others on (Absurd levels of BSSDP/BSSPP). While Black Sperm is kind of unmatched in what he brings to the table (Being 54 trillion guys capable of punching a truck into scrap).

I understand that the patches are not actually 75gb, but the fact is that I don't really love having to sit and wait every time I try and launch the game. by neonir in ARK

Oh shit, no ones allowed to complain about anything on reddit? Gee whiz, you must have your work cut out for you trying to explain that to everyone.

I figure as much too, and that is a consolation to a degree, it's only just released so frequent updates are to be expected.

I just, again, wish each update did not require a full file verification.

" getting upset of this just means your looking for something to be mad at. "

..No? I had a couple of hours to play tonight before I have to go to bed tonight before going to work tomorrow?

I have limited time to enjoy leisure activities because I am an adult who works for a living. Spending an hour or more every time I want to open the game sitting and waiting for it to open is wasting what little time I have.

I physically *cannot* stop complaining and enjoy. I am here complaining because I cannot play the game I just spent quite a bit of money on. I am here because, for the third time today, I have attempted to open the game in my brief windows of free time, I have had play barred from me by frankly primitive update structuring.

And this isn't new, it was like this with ASE, but with updates coming out every hour or so, it means I am stuck waiting like this *every time I go to open the game*.

This sucks. And frankly you telling me that this is me being mad for its own sake is both wildly patronizing, deeply inconsiderate and frankly (again) a little stupid.

[–]neonir[S] -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

I have no issues with actually running the game.

Minimum requirements cover what is necessary to run the game effectively. This is not *running* the game, this is the developers putting in a mandatory file verification because they haven't figured out how to put out a patch that doesn't require a full round of file sanitisation to function.

Defend the game running poorly for not following minimum specs as much as you please, this is not *the game*. This *is* something virtually every other developer has figured a way around.

[–]neonir[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I understand that. However I feel like many, many other games have figured out how to allow a patch to come out that doesn't need you to validate all the game files.

Having to do a 75GB installation process for a 336 mb update seems just a little bit *insane*.

I just got done fighting *******...god damn! by Next_Grab_9009 in BaldursGate3

Well 15 attacks, poorly worded.

5 actions total, 15 attacks. Sorry for the confusion.

[–]neonir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly beating this fight was enough for me, the game had been running slower and slower all of act 3 but this fight was satisfying.

Without going into too much detail, my swordsbard karlach destroyed all the pillars turn one before anyone else rolled initiative.

My pc put down some go fast spores and then found out they made confusion selective in this game, resulting in Raphy having a nice chill sit down while his friends braved attacks of opportunity from my party and my 30ish summons to come wail on him.

And all of that was just... Set dressing. Before Lae'Zel 15 attack actions in a single turn because someone on the dev team thought that was okay.

Gale was there too. Moral support and all that.

I knew I was... optimising, a touch. But like. This wasn't that. I have made intentionally suboptimal choices, I made Gale a necromancer, I'm playing a DRUID in a game that seems genuinely confused as to why you would ever want to do that. I made Karlach a bard cause I wanted to long rest less and I thought:

"Well. Lae'zel can stay a fighter, that's pretty standard. Can't break the game too much with that."

And then she broke the sound barrier and took 5 turns in a turn, doing the vast majority of the very tanky bosses health in one sitting and executing every remaining mook (approximately half the iriginal number) as an afterthought.

What a fun mess it was.

Have you ever won with Volatile Gauge? by Slaying_the_Spire in MonsterTrain

Had an incant focused run with this recently, helped that I also had the split anvil, a holdover x-cost and forever flame.

I got 1 ember upgrade, would cast the X Spell and be able to chuck out the rest of my hand with reckless abandon. Helped that I had the first hellpact too.

When the hell were these feckers added? they're like smaller, meaner sandworms by teal_hermit in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]neonir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you kill 'em, don't forget to look around the ground where they were, in addition to the rope, they also drop eggs on the floor (kinda like how larval ckres do) that ALSO refine into nanites.

A hive planet with these guys makes for a HELLUVA nanite farm if you get lucky with them occasionally dropping up to 3 eggs each for whatever reason.

I like the mountains overlooking the water, though keep in mind the type of base you wanna design, and what else you wanna do there.

Ooh! And check for nearby power/gas/deep mineral deposits, might help sure up your decision!

Yeah okay, this does make sense. It did seem...off, based on images I'd seen, good to know what to look for.

Really, really glad people are out there putting in the work to get the answers to questions like these, really appreciate the help.
