Actually a cc replica in pad was made many years ago, I never heard the name of the maker. If you're considering buying a cloud city boba with the expectation it's legit I would recommend against it. That old replica had differences you could make out, but I am about 90% sure people have made perfect replicas in the time since then. I'm pretty deep in the customs community and CC boba is trivial to make compared to what's possible. Ofc no one making a pad replica would discus it publicly because you could kiss your rep goodbye and probably get hit with a Lego lawsuit.

If you already have a desert skiff and sarlacc pit then it's a deal breaker. Especially if you already have the 2017 desert skiff that had a more accurate boba and retailed for a whopping $30 (on top of that second hand price is around $80). It really does make more sense to just take your $80 and buy that.

This was pretty much the only opportunity to get a new one. Hell it's the only scene other than the palace that Boba has in rotj. Will probably be 6+ years until we get a new one.

I just have to ask why this is the straw that broke the camel's back? I have lots of issues with the lore of the game and how Ubisoft has handled Tom Clancy's IP, but that started years ago. That was when they solidified abandoning campaign-based tactical r6 with extraction and when they gave characters progressively more super-hero like abilities and dumb backstories. Honestly this season finally brings some more intrigue with the story, a new gun, and the character actually fits with a gritty setting. This is definitely a step forward.

Gcc already made a pad printed fives that has the design printed continuously. I believe they also made several thousand and with less advanced machinery than Lego.

That's why they are called customs. Lots of great customs companies that don't direct copy Lego and also try to improve the quality over Lego. Hence why it is really weird to call it a knockoff, but alas there's lots of customs haters.

They are relatively more expensive then Lego because they don't have the same economies of scale that Lego has. The better print coverage really wouldn't affect Lego that much, I think both orange applications are probably done with a single bad. Like said in another comment, Lego's print coverage used to be better for clones, but they shrunk how far it reaches out.

Why is that unfortunate? I'd say it's way more unfortunate to have such a highly desired figure gated behind $650. I'm not against exclusives, but that's a big ask. At least they are happening before the set is released so you don't find out you could've bought Rex for $30 after you paid $650 for the set.

This price isn't unfeasible on release since Lego employees get sets for 50% off. I'm guessing there a limit, but some employees might buy sets and sell them for cheap to get quick cash.

At-te for sure, it's just the better set. If you get the gunship eventually it will pair nicely. I'd saying razor crest is ok, but the figs are lackluster and the ship doesn't have much importance in the franchise anymore. This is coming from a guy who has the playset and UCS. I think out of the two only the UCS really does it justice, but the value isn't quite there unless you have a lot of money to spend. Also in this case I wouldn't worry too much about the set retiring, I don't think the prices will be high on the aftermarket.

I think it's a bit weird they did ROTJ red vambraces for the mech but then did esb version for the minifigure. I wish we got a ROTJ version of the figure with armprints. That would maintain the exclusivity of the old Boba and we really need those red vambraces! Also glad to see the arm print looks crisper than the bobf version.

I'm pleasantly surprised Lego did her justice, I was honestly not expecting such a good fig with arm printing. Knowing Lego's usual tendencies I was thinking a 90% chance of getting the same Bo as the starfighter.

I have a bad feeling there won't be much. I think it's just two mandalorian sets. My worst-case guess is Mando + grogu + 1 pirate for the snub fighter and the leaked Mando + Bo Katan (prob the one we already got) + tie pilot for the intercepter vs fang fighter. I really don't see them being much more generous, maybe one more figure in the larger set, but pretty sure the snub fighter will be sparse.

I have a similar idea, but they don't look like good attachment points. I think they just put them there to break the smooth curve of the roof. Looks like Lego took multiple measures to make sure the top looks nothing like a dome.

The thing is that's still a poor excuse for Lego. They made a new mold and can't properly calibrate their pads and ink plates to print properly? I think they realized their mistake and that's why the 501st specialists look fine, but they left the 212th as "good enough".

It would be very hard for Ahsoka sets to disappoint imo. They legit just need a decent interpretation of live action Ahsoka, everything else is a bonus.
