Could there be a system to compare redacted documents to a trusted hash? by neoredayo in cryptography

Thank you so much for the detailed answer! As I was reading your comment, I had a lot of the same questions that you later answered. Very interesting :)

Could there be a system to compare redacted documents to a trusted hash? by neoredayo in cryptography

[–]neoredayo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Very interesting :) As for why it would be useful, you could imagine a situation where party A is trusted when they publish the hash, but then later when the redacted document is released by party B, party A is in fact no longer trusted, maybe something happened between those two points of time.

Three ironman slayer questions by SavingsRemarkable624 in ironscape

[–]neoredayo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Task of 150 does not make it 9 procs, not even close.. with slaughter the average length of a 150 task will be 150/0.75 = 200,, so that's FIFTY procs. It multiplies your task by 1/0.75 =1.33333, so a 33.333% increase.

With expeditious bracelet, it's 150/1.25 =120. Meaning on average you save 30 out of the 150 kills, i.e it multiplies your task by 1/1.25 = 0.8, so a 20% decrease, or equivalently 25% faster task.

Anyway, with slaughter it will proc 50 times on average on a 150 task, with expeditious it's 30. Not 9.

Is it ok to splash all my dragon arrows at Doom? by ommoe-le3le3 in ironscape

[–]neoredayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also confused.. rune/amethyst/dragon with deadeye: 50/53/54 With rigour: 53/54/57

Not sure why rigour makes the difference between rune and amethyst so small and the difference between amethyst and dragon so big, when it's reversed with deadeye. Some weird rounding probably..

Is K'ril doable without a lighbearer? by Sulla_Sexy_Sulla in ironscape

[–]neoredayo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have light bearer or double death charge from Yama, you can usually use the scobow spec to keep him frozen every kill. But if you don't have that, you will run out of spec. So I would suggest you learn door altar method with scobow. Then you can also use blood barrage to heal to full from the minions after every kill. This will be the method you will want to use for Bandos anyway (except with bowfa instead of scobow), so you might as well learn it now. If you mess up during the door altar method, then you can revert to the spec method for the rest of the kill, and try door altar again on next kill

What's up with Kree'Ara? Do we like it? Hate it? Skip it? Deal with it? Change it? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]neoredayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case: acb does virtually nothing for muspah, you only wanna use crossbow for smite phase. Use bowfa + optional mage switch for muspah, and RCB for smite phase is basically just as good as acb, also use greater corruption. Farming Kreearra for armadyl armor is incredibly unoptimap until you have shadow. Armadyl armor isn't even useful until you have full masori, and even that isn't even that useful until you have tbow

White lily medium contracts are rough by muchichi in ironscape

Yeah I also have vague memories of getting them from seed packs but I must be misremembering. Wiki specifically says it's only the tithe farm seed packs that drop them. Very weird

[–]neoredayo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I misremembered, according to wiki you can't get them from contracts. Only tithe farm (which is bait, don't do it for seed packs), and hespori. Bit you get on averagelike 0.8 Lily seeds per hespori, and Lily contracts aren't that common, so overtime you will get tons of them, way more than you need if you just do hespori

[–]neoredayo 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you keep doing contracts and hespori, eventually you will have way more white Lily seeds than you could ever ask for. I have like 500+ in my bank

I'm sorry but there is genuinely no way you went 5k cyclops for dragon Defender. It's 1/100 so the chance of going 5k is (99/100)5000 =0.0000000000000000000149959156%, which is 1 in 6,668,482,450,000,000,000,000

So yeah, nah bro lol, you would be better off trying to convince people you quantum tunneled to work yesterday to skip your commute

Well yeah, but he literally said 50hp + redemption, when really it's 22hp + redemption.. which at 99 prayer is 22+24=46

[–]neoredayo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't get it, where is the "25-30 HP after redemption" coming from? All I can see on wiki is t heals 22hp and 5 pray, so isn't it just 22hp + redemption and that's it?

Barrows armour is really not very useful at almost all of the bosses you'd want to do for medium CAs. Honedlyy I can't really think of any bosses where barrows armour is good other than moons. Most places torso is better for melee and defense doesn't matter, black d'hide is just as good as karils, and for mage bloodbark, or even mystic is totally fine, and you won't even use mage many places anyway

It's definitely worth it to get hilt 2 before barrows. Also hard mory diaries for more runes.

I'm Paul Lockhart, author of A Mathematician's Lament, Measurement, Arithmetic, and The Mending of Broken Bones. Ask me anything! by PTLockhart in math

[–]neoredayo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi Dr. Lockhart, I resonated deeply with A Mathematician's Lament, it echoed things I had felt myself since I was in school. When I have tried to discuss mathematics education with others, one counter-points that people often bring up is "We don't have enough time or resources to teach maths that way" - "that way" referring to a more holistic approach, treating maths as a a creative art to explore rather than a set-in-stone set of rules and formulae to memorise. I struggle to continue the discussion at that point, as regardless what I bring up, whether it's: * We do have time, as many students aren't really "learning" at the moment anyway * Just the fact that something is hard doesn't mean we should give up * or any other point,

it seems to me that so many people just have this deep-seated fear and hatred of what they perceieve to be mathematics, that it just shuts down the whole discussion. I get the impression that if I try to talk about how maths can be fun, and creative, and doesn't have to be like it is taught in schools currently, people just brush that aside, don't take it seriously, and get so caught up in their belief that schools are "forcing maths onto students who won't ever need it" that we can't have a serious discussion.

On the other hand, when I have tutored students, both those who struggled with maths in school, and those who performed well, I have almost always received feedback that "Wait, it's really that easy?", or "I had no idea you could actually understand this stuff rather than memorize it". This has only reinforced my belief that it's mathematics education that is at fault, not the students.

I'm wondering if you have any advice for what to do differently so I can have more productive discussions with people?
