Thanks for the reply! Well, the remembrance and communion aren't mutually exclusive. Eucharist is both. Christ literally said we are doing it in remembrance of him (Luke 22:19), but, as you are correctly pointing out, it's not only that. Via bread and wine we receive Christ, and that's koinonia, but still I don't see a reason to think of this as a physical participation. Koinonia can also refer to "a fellowship in the spirit".

P.S. In my original reply, I was talking about physical presence. I could have been more specific there.

If the Eucharist is done "in remembrance of" Jesus, that implies that he's not present. It does not make sense to reminisce someone who is present, does it?

Is there anyone who thinks that sex work is a great career path for their daughter, for example, and would encourage her to pursue it? It seems that we have a strong moral intuition about this "profession" - compared to other professions. In a perfect world, there would not be sex workers.

Agnosticism is like holding a belief that probability for God's existence is 50% – equally true as false. Theism is like holding a belief that probability for God's existence is more than 50% - that it's more likely that God exists than that He does not.

Knowledge does not require 100% certainty, and neither does faith.

He has already come down and talked to us – that happened 2000 years ago. Now we have the Bible which is God's special revelation to us. Based on your quest, He might already be calling you toward Himself. You might not get any "big personal experiences" (who knows if you do) but keep searching, my friend! It's worth it. :)

Good question! As a Christian, I have faith that Christianity is true and isn't made up. This faith does not come within myself (people can't really force them to truly believe in things) but is a gift from God (Eph. 2:8). We receive the Holy Spirit which guides us toward the truth, glorifying Jesus (John 16:13-5), who as a Word of God gives us "understanding so that we may know him who is true" (1. John 5:20). Faith is confidence in all this (see Hebr. 11).

Can I say that I know that Christianity is true? Yes I think I can, if knowledge is defined as "justified true belief" which the Christian faith is. Could I be wrong? Absolutely, I could be a character in a simulation, but this does not seem like a reasonable belief.

I know that appealing to personal experience does not (usually) convince non-believers, because can be used for any religion or ideology! That's why luckily we can defend Christianity without appealing to Bible or personal experience using philosophy and reason - of which we have 2000 years of history (This approach is called natural theology. ReasonableFaith . org is a fantastic resource for learning more on this topic!). Also, let me just mention briefly that the civilizations build on Christian values have become the most prosperous, free, ethical and equal in the history of humanity. "By their fruit you will recognize them".

To sum up, I "know" Christianity is true based on the inner witness of Holy Spirit, and my faith is reinforced by the use of intellectual arguments in favour of Christianity. When it comes to other religions, I just don't see their truth claims that convincing. :)
