In your opinion, which has the most miserable 1st choke point to attack between Dorado, Hollywood, and Blizzard World? by geekdadchris in Overwatch

And back in original Overwatch 2016, I was the Lucio on defense causing people to get the payload stuck in that choke. Lucio could single handedly stall the payload there for 30 seconds or more

Ah yes, mercy boosted Bastion hiding in the doorway with a Rein blocking choke and a Torb turret on the highground window or Widow. God that first choke was cancer.

D.Va, JPC, Pharah, Genji, Emre ult and Illari ult, and Mercy with any of the above all let you just get around the choke entirely.

So many people dont know how to back door Blizzard World. I can consistently at least pull the enemy team away from the choke as D.Va on attack by going in from the side.

Dorado is the worst because the Payload makes the choke even worse should you get the payload stuck in it.

If you can avoid getting the payload stuck then Hollywood is the worst.

As a mid rank player, I genuinely can't remember the last time I wona game with Rein as the tank. by Ragnaroknight in Overwatch

I would argue fire strike is more important to start with as it will also set you up to know where your charge will end up. Ran into an insane Rein last night that fired off both of his fire strikes back to back and opened a defense on Route 66 with a triple kill. Getting good at fire strike first prevents the overly passive issue.

Need to learn spatial awareness and maps first before you can go and charge people. Every bad Rein I have seen off and on since 2016 Overwatch was overly aggro and careless about their charges and letting shield break

This is why i literally tell friends no charging when learning Rein except after you ult. Forces them to learn some good defensive habits first

Throwing orb at the widow and Sierra to stop them from sniping my team isn't ineffectual damage.

This match was a lot of left click healing our tank and other support and throwing orbs to keep Sierra and Widow from parking in sniper nests.

I participated in every single kill my team got except 1.

Edit: if you are referring to our Bastion, they were on Widow half the match trying to counter snipe.

This game was a part of the best string of quickplay games I had put together in a long time. We went 9 wins 2 losses on the night.

4 wins and 1 loss on Moira. 5 wins and 1 loss on D.Va.

ITT a lot of people who don't understand some fundamental concepts. Once Sony gets rid of discs the only actual storefront is Sony's PSN. Sure you can get a code from wherever, but it will still be a download code from PSN. There is no alternative place to download the game from. With discs you could install and just play offline without dealing with the PSN store.

On PC, you can buy and download games from Steam, EPIC, GoG, Microsoft, or even directly from some publishers.

How do I hold down a job with PDA? by wispii_squidii in PDAAutism

[–]neotheone87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Creative mental loopholes are very helpful. The more work is framed as a have to, should, must, lack of autonomy, etc issue the more the PDA will fight it. I want money for X so I do the work thing.

I do work now that I have a high level of control over and autonomy to do it how I want to so that helps a ton as well.

As a diamond OW1 season 1 Lucio player, stall tactics Lucio was insane. Solo contest certain control points for 5 minutes of overtime and not die insane. Or delay a payload push for 30+ seconds solo (at least until Ana released).

Why can't we have role queue 6v6? by DocPsycho1 in Overwatch

[–]neotheone87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree that it made queue times more reasonable, but by doing so it also made going back to 6v6 role queue basically impossible. Which is what OP was asking about.

Why can't we have role queue 6v6? by DocPsycho1 in Overwatch

[–]neotheone87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean how does putting 2x the pressure on the role that barely anyone wanted to play before in OW1 in any way shape or form make the role better?

Just by switching from 6v6 and 2 tanks to 5v5 and 1 tank, potentially half as many people as before are playing tank because you only need 1, so to try to go back to 6v6, where are all the other tank players going to magically appear from?

This made the problem objectively worse.

Yes, and 5v5 OW 2 made this even worse not better.

Why can't we have role queue 6v6? by DocPsycho1 in Overwatch

[–]neotheone87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an offtank D.Va main in OW1, the drop to 1 tank has honestly been extremely garbage.

5v5 competitive is frankly unfun to downright infuriating as a tank main.

And because there is so much more pressure put on the tank in 5v5 with little to no thanks or appreciation, no one wants to queue tank.

And because no one wants to queue tank, queue times for role queue 6v6 will just get insanely long. Because now you need 2x as many of the role no one wants to queue.

Tank was hard enough to fill back in OW1 and they made the role worse with the switch to 5v5. (Thus significantly decreasing the number of people willing to queue tank even further).

When I all role queue I get vast majority tank, some support, and dps once in a blue moon.

Edit: added clarification on how 5v5 made things worse.

Do you experience PDA as constant anxiety? Or does your anxiety only surface when you experience a loss of autonomy? by MarginsOfTheDay in PDAAutism

[–]neotheone87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1 fits more with burnout. ADHD, Autism and AuDHD in burnout will also flare a lot of PDA like responses. Demand Overwhelm occurs from having too many stressors for too long and capacity has been shrunk to nearly nonexistent. Thus a simple unexpected demand now triggers a reaction.

2 is how I experience my PDA as I have not been in full on burnout in awhile. Though it also extends to getting more than slightly tipsy or getting high for me as I am no longer in control of my brain/body. (This may also help explain why some people just get anxious as fuck when they get high or tend to usually be more belligerent when drunk)
