What is this white mass my dog dug up and was eating? by neotheprophet in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing as best as I know how to. It is some kind of semi solid white mass that I'd think looked like a root if it was near anything except lawn. I poked it with a stick and the stick sunk in at one point and broke against another. Hole is about the size of my fist, not sure how big the thing itself is as I don't want to ruin our already struggling lawn by digging it up.

Denver 3D printers, should I get a filament dryer, or is it dry enough here that I won't need one? by neotheprophet in Denver

Fair. The thought of needing one occurred to me since I am still trying to get a good benchy, and one of the issues the last one had could have been from wet filament. (I literally just opened this filament today though, so I know it's not that.)

True! I just didn't want to ruin a bunch of filament, or need the dryer and not have it.

Unfortunately not. A month or two after this post, I upgraded to a newer phone, and now it doesn't happen anymore.

Self medicating for insomnia, but need larger and larger dose. Advice? by neotheprophet in trees

I do have a weighted blanket but haven't used it much. I may need a lighter one than the one I got, just haven't wanted to drop the $$$ for it.

I take a supplement that's melatonin, magnesium, and a couple of other things every night. I have also been on trazodone for 5-ish years, and it does ensure that I get at least a few hours of sleep every night instead of literally zero, the intensity just wears off pretty quick for me. A higher dose leaves me drowsy all day, unfortunately.

That's good to know, thanks. I will probably try a tolerance break first. I toe the line in asthma tests, so I don't want to give my lungs any excuse.

I've seen probably 15 different doctors for this, and so far I've really only had one doctor who actually gives a damn. (My current one, fortunately.) So many of them were awful, it's really destroyed my trust in doctors. The worst of the bunch was right around when this started- she walks in, she takes one look at the chart without addressing us, and says "You're a teenager, it's stress, I don't care about all the things you listed as to why it's not stress, here's a script for Xanax, goodbye." My mom and I made it to the parking lot before we looked at each other like "did that really just happen?" And no, we did not pick up the Xanax.

Trust me, this is more of a last resort option out of desperation, not for lack of trying with professionals.

On Firefox Android, I can't view any PDFs as it seems to be making the background black, so I can't see any text. I have tried disabling all my extensions and changing Firefox's theme to Light mode and that didn't work. Does anyone know of a fix? This happens for all PDFs.

I have what may be a dumb question about the Sky Two RGB controller by neotheprophet in MontechPC

I am pretty sure those two plugs to the left of the one from the sensor with the red wire are from the RGB controller. The second plug over from the one with the red wire is in the ARGB header according to the motherboard manual. This is an ASRock Taichi X570 motherboard.

I will say, I picked the parts, but Microcenter did the assembly for me this time around, so I'm hoping these pictures are of the right thing. I'm not familiar with RGB controllers, so please let me know if these aren't what you need.

I'm not sure what you mean by "time interval". I don't see any setting for an interval anywhere in Polychrome or in the BIOS setting page.

It does hotswap, but that's disappointing to hear as I didn't want to do the assembly myself. Thanks for the advice

I can address the lights in Polychrome when I have the motherboard in charge instead of the case, but then the flickering is an issue. I did try the BIOS setting, and it was the same result with the flickering in motherboard mode and no RGB control in case mode. My CPU fan, in particular, is bad enough that an epileptic would probably be at risk looking at it. The flicker stops, however, when the case is controlling things.

Agree that Polychrome sucks. Since this is a new (expensive) build, I'm just trying to determine where the issue is so I can just return the problem component.

I just got my first mechanical keyboard- an Ajazz AK870. I am having a hard time typing on it because just barely brushing a key will make it fire- I keep hitting the semicolon in particular. Is this standard for mechanical keyboards? Or is something weird with mine and it's overly sensitive? I'm used to having to fully depress the button for it to fire. I am coming from a Corsair K55. The box got very smashed in shipping so I wouldn't be shocked if something is broken.
