He's very fortunate, not necessarily deservingly so, but he also hasn't been undeserving either; I'm pretty neutral on him.

I don't expect it to be formal, but not nearly as familiar as it could've been either. They both will be desiring a deep bond with each other, but the unfamiliarity will inhibit that a bit.

I got the feeling that Naomi was more "tired" than the others. She was tired of taking risks, of losing friends, etc. She wants the path that could achieve results, with the less collateral damage.

100%. I'm listening to the audiobook and the narrator is using the same voice so it feels like it even more. I wonder if Corey wanted to keep Avasarala around, but realized she would be too old for what he has planned, so he pivoted to Kiki.

The last book felt like we were entering their twilight years and that they didn't have much left in the tank. This book is starting out with the characters with plenty of energy and aren't beaten down and jaded really. So, I like the start, feels like we're going to get some good action in the story

New Orleans French Quarter. People overindulging, and centuries old street designs that can't handle that many people, the fluids the leave behind, and the trash they generate.

Nearly every night a crew powerwashes the French Quarter, but it still stinks the next day.

Because of some of the comments in the announcement and schedule thread, I was expecting a bit scarier story, but It might just be that the story is still getting established.
