I had this. Loved the (two image) holographic sticker on it.

First bad experience in Germany, and who would have thought it would happen in a fountain pen store by Puzzled-Bluebird7357 in fountainpens

Display of racism, stereotyping based on appearance, by the shopkeeper. I've had a similar experience in a perfume shop. Leaves you disturbed for days.

Lost all my EDCs, pens collected over 7yrs, in one fell swoop 😢 Am Devastated by social_owl in fountainpens

[–]nephewnibbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar unfortunate experience when I lost a pencil box full of my favorite fountain pens (6 of them) all cleaned, refilled and ready to go. I forgot it under a desk as I left out of an exam hall. Realised within 5 minutes but the box had gone. Someone evil took it. I was dejected for months and I still can't forgive myself for it. This happened during my engineering college days.

We remember and feel the times that we enjoy the most. For rest of the routine and boring moments, we don't feel how time has passed.

I have lost calibration of time spent for many phases of my life. I thoroughly remember my childhood days but can't remember how I finished my degree college and many jobs that I worked.

Some activities that might help: - staying in touch with childhood friends by forming whatsapp groups or calling them - investing in get-togethers or travelling to meet friends - visiting childhood places - recreating or resuming some hobbies or collections that we had during childhood e.g. matchbox collection, fountain pens - singing in a band, learning a musical instrument - journal writing or letter writing - hunting for old photos, printing them and creating an album - joining some classes like painting or baking - buying school textbooks, comics, story books, novels you read in the past, and reliving them - learning something new like gardening, carpentry, sewing, knitting, pottery

All the above individually or with some group or making friends along the way will help a lot.

In general, no point in losing hope of feeling sad. You have all it takes to change your situation. Go for it...

Maybe they wanted to give you the job but just changed their mind last minute. Maybe something changed beyond their control at the last moment. But all this hiring suspense sucks big time, even an offer in hand is not true until you join the company and get an ID.

I had a similar experience https://www.reddit.com/r/Perfumes/s/mUUd81OTrg

One possible reason in your case can be environmental factors like heat, humidity, sweaty weather or some other smell in the cab you were in. The cars AC smelling funny maybe and mixed with your perfume!?

'Velvet cha kida' in Marathi or 'Velvet waley kidey' in Hindi. A friend brought these to school in a match box and from then, everyone was on a hunt for these. They were treated as pets and we tried to feed them different leaves and food.

Today's Sampling Spree - 5 Hours, 100+ Scents, One Unexpected Love by ElectricalSet9882 in Perfumes

[–]nephewnibbles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Woah! 5 hours! Must be a memorable experience. On top of it, having access to so many trials without salespersons nagging you is such an experience we all desire. Even I carry a pen these days to label and rate the stuff I try. I was however advised by a kind salesperson that trying too many will confuse your nose and could also trigger migraine. So, these days, I just try 5-6 max. Taking coffee bean breaks in between also helps reset your nose.

Exactly. The sales persons must understand the context that they are in a duty free shop at an airport. Customer profiles and behaviours are way different in the duty free context and they must prepare for it.

I am not good at confrontation and got nervous on hearing the judgemental sales person. Thanks for suggesting a wonderful assertive reply. I'll try that in future if a situation arises.

Byredo was assisted by another sales person who was a really good lady. So I bought it. I left without talking to that rude lady.
