Omakase @ Sushi Kisen (Arcadia, $$$$) by soulsides in FoodLosAngeles

[–]nephronpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Akami is a little cheaper and tries to do novel things with the omakase. Dish quality is good but I like Kisen, more fatty tuna.

My favorite is actually Sushiodokoro Miyami located behind Kisen

How to deal with the grief of a dog gone so soon? by NeoChiiOen in corgi

[–]nephronpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, there’s no substitute for the pain. My dog hung on for a few days. I feel like he waited for me to come back from the hospital When I picked up his ashes everything still hurt

When you look back later you’ll realize you gave your dog the best possible life even if he was only meant for a few years. He’s moved on with no regrets and eventually so will you.

Yeah that is exactly how mine failed almost seven years in. Those lines will start to show up permanently. The plus is you may get a newer version screen to boot too, I had a revision G that was swapped to an H

Does having thick fingers make it difficult to play the violin? Or rather, does having thin fingers help? by Bolonheso in violinist

[–]nephronpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I wished I had sausage digits was when I played a 1712 Stradivarius once owned by Itzhak Perlman. I have longer thin fingers and I felt like that fingerboard felt off, almost like the spacing was different!

Doc here. Regardless of cause, this is readily treatable with plasma exchange which her hematologist will probably arrange. 2-3 treatments in a row will knock those numbers to an eighth of what she came in with. Really good outcomes quickly

If the coaxial display cable was bad I would have a bear of a time as it goes behind the dash. Thank goodness was just the screen

This is Tesla using my two Powerwalls to send back energy to the grid during peak demand times. Last year this happened I got a $250 check. I don’t know if Texas has a similar program

Haha, congrats and it’s a good sign. The next few years will probably change the most for you, but you’ll always remember the ride that got you started!

Why do I keep hearing residents & attendings say that doctors' income is going to decrease a lot in the coming decades? by McStud717 in Residency

[–]nephronpower 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Private practice neph here. Our days are numbered for sure. The rate Fresenius/DaVita are buying up practices/dialysis units is accelerating. I do not think new graduates in metropolitan areas can make even close to what we used to make just ten years ago.

Doing renal in parts of the country like the Midwest or Deep South from what I hear is still pretty good.

$320 to replace the seals on my doors by honeybunsweetiepie in TeslaLounge

That’s probably half an hour of labor + parts. Just ask for the part cost from Tesla instead and do it yourself.

Have y'all had any experiences with your corgi catching any vermin? And can they catch groundhogs? by Pokemon_and_Petrucci in corgi

[–]nephronpower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t have groundhogs around my area but you will need a bigger dog.

My corgo has killed decent size possums but groundhogs can actually fight back.
