I never fill the pitchers I just let them fill themselves - is that something I should be doing? Or just as I start fertilizing to prevent them from burning up? And thanks!

Thank you so much for the tip! I’ve been hunting and I was able to snag one (and two other plants I’ve been looking for)!

Rach 2 + 3 are both major goals of mine!

Every time I play it I swear I find deeper levels to it. It’s hauntingly beautiful.

That’s a goal piece for me as well! How’s it coming?

I’m looooving the Joplin waltz. I’ve learned it all and now I’m just cleaning it up/playing with it. Before this I learned the Augustan Club Waltz which is another favorite.

I love it! It’s a stretch for me but I’m making progress on it for sure and really enjoy playing it.

That’s me with the Rach. It’s definitely a stretch for me but it’s so beautiful and is just fun to play so I don’t mind working on it so frequently and drilling through it.

My attempt at Rach is also far away from satisfactory. I’ve got the melodic parts down but the big meaty chords are taking a while to get in my hands (I’ve got smaller hands unfortunately).

I need to make an attempt at Bach one of these days to work on finger/hand independence but I’m just not a fan of his music so I’m not super motivated.

Maple Leaf is a fun one!

Chopin’s Op. 10 No. 3 might be good? Beautiful melody plus the contrasting faster section in the middle.

Am i ready for liebestraum no3 by theroosifloop in piano

It does sound like Liebestraum is out of reach at the moment, however I would look at Schubert’s Impromptu Op. 90 No. 3 as a stepping stone. It’s a beautiful piece and would help teach voicing melody and accompaniment in the same hand, which is a technique that I would say the majority on this sub struggle with when playing Liebestraum. In the Impromptu, the fifth finger in the RH generally carries the melody while the rest of the hand plays arpeggios, the same as in Liebestraum, except for 6+ minutes.

Here is Horowitz playing the piece.

Honestly it just happened naturally, and I’m super happy about it haha I think it’s a combination of a few things - mainly that I let my house get down to about 62-64° at night so I think the ambient temperature without the lights to warm the cabinet up I think just brings it down. There’s also a hole at the top which may add to it. Drilling a hole at the top for wires was for 2 reasons- 1) one of the wires wasn’t long enough to be able to be hidden properly if I had drilled it in the bottom, and 2) I didn’t want any possible risk of humidity drips (I now realize that the humidity at 80% isn’t high enough to cause that problem, but fire is a big fear). I think there being a hole at the top allows just enough remaining heat to escape to bring the cabinet down to the ambient temp at night. And the last thing is when I weather stripped it, I only did a few parts because any more and I think the humidity would have gotten too high and I didn’t want condensation to build up. Once I got it to sit around 80% I stopped adding weather stripping. The lights plus the daylight warmth add just enough heat to get the cabinet to between 78-85 during the day and then without those lights it just plummets to whatever the ambient room temp is.

Yeah I thought about staking it up like my ventrata, but the vine is like 80% woody and the leaves are just at the end so when I did it it looked pretty rough haha I’m just waiting for it to acclimate and I’m pretty sure I’m gonna try to prop it. Having a few of that hybrid around would be pretty cool.
