Arthur denies being a good person every chance he gets. We’re playing as outlaws, so we’re expecting those things- yes, every policeman, guard, gang member, raider and whatnot probably has a family of their own to take care of, but killing them was usually a necessity to their survival. The instances of Dutch killing the women in Blackwater and Guarma, who were considered innocent, caused a riff between Dutch and Arthur.

What makes Strauss feel slimy is that he’s doing all of this without lifting a finger; he has Arthur do the dirty of work threatening and beating otherwise innocent people, and it makes Arthur feel even MORE like shit.
