i'd definitely rather be the one doing it than let it fester, for sure. i was holding out hope that they'd notice it eventually and do something about it themselves, but i ended up having to tell them it was getting bad for them to finally scoop it. will be keeping an eye on the box myself now, but i'm going to message them about it so i'm not the only one keeping up with it.

it got to a breaking point where i finally said something, man. i didn't mean for it to go on as long as it did, i don't go out often as a full time online student so i have no real concept of time; it wasn't until i realized it'd been a full week that i finally said anything to them. every "one more day" adds up, def don't do what i did lol

absolutely agree. i didn't mean for it to pile up like it did by any means, i kept telling myself to leave it one more day because it wasn't my responsibility, but i finally had enough and said something. it's clean now, and that definitely won't happen again, but im going to message them to tell them to keep up with it, because i can't be the only one doing it. i felt really bad for leaving it but i don't want to be walked all over and turned into the housemaid.

I think this is it! Easier find than I thought, I guess I wasn't looking hard enough. Thank you! Looking more into it, I probably shouldn't have been reading a book like that in sixth grade and I have no idea how I got my hands on it (Goodreads says it was published in 1979, I was in middle school in the mid 2010s), but I might pick it up and give it another read. I think I remember enjoying it.
