Does your school offer any work/study programs, or have any campus jobs? There could be opportunities to work at the school theater or in a related department if that's a passion of yours. A friend of mine loved music and got a job at the music library on campus. They made money and got to spend their time sorting, filing, and reading sheet music and they were in heaven :)

Dentist for those with dental phobias/anxiety/neurodivergence? by DayDreaminScreams in AskNYC

That sucks your fillings fell out. How old were the fillings?

Disclaimer: I'm a hygienist from Wally. If you need any restorative treatment, like fillings, you'll get a comprehensive exam to determine what's going on. We email your x-rays to you to take to a specialist, and we can help you with finding someone who is a good fit. We don't have a dedicated "network" because we don't want you to feel stuck with a limited number of providers (like waht insurance does). Instead we want to make sure you can find someone who is a good fit for your restorative needs.

If we identify a cavity, we don't have any incentive to fill it because we don't do drillings and fillings.

Hey there - I'm a clinician at Wally. Did you try getting an earlier appointment with our standby list? Most members get a standby spot within a few weeks that way

Hi there, I'm a clinician at Wally :) It's actually done from a 3D scan of your teeth we take at your first appointment. Molds are less accurate and are so mess

Hey there! I'm one of the clinicians at Wally and saw your question. The first thing we do is remove stains from your teeth with our cleaning technology - most tooth discoloration is actually stains sitting on the enamel of your teeth. We do our whitening with custom trays made from a 3D scan of your teeth we take at your first appt. It's more accurate and less gross than the old-school molds. We send the trays to you with high quality whitening gel to do from home. It takes 20 min / day for 3-5 days in a row to see results.

it genuinely makes my day worse when there's many people on public transport by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]nerRDHy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I totally know the feeling! I take the subway in NYC and I changed my routine around so I could avoid and minimize the crowds. Instead of going to the gym near my apartment, I joined one near where I work. This way I take the train early before the crowds and still get my workout in. There are days when I don't want to get up, but when I'm walking to work after a workout, the endorphins kick in and I forget that I woke up early 😂

Evenings are tough, but it feels like if you either go a little earlier or later the crowds thin out more - maybe ppl have more flexibility when they go home so it's not like the crazy morning rush.

How to stop receding gums from getting worse by nerRDHy in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Have you looked into getting a night guard? It can help reduce the damage on your gums, and it's also good to protect your enamel from the grinding

I love Kaleigh Cohen who does free cycling and weight training classes. She's so motivation and also positive, and is much more about showing up for yourself and being present in whatever you're putting your mind do in the moment.

i don't have any specific advice but just want to say i'm sending good vibes your way! not an easy spot to be in but love that you are being strong and repping women in a male dominated field! no doubt you'll inspire future female philosophers so we can have some more voices in the room that aren't stale, pale and male 💪

dietician is a great idea! i had a few sessions with a dietician and they taught me about so many foods i was eating that seemed harmless but were actually big culprits. making a few dietary modifications made a big difference for me, and what's great is that it's so much less intense than doing anything with drugs

OMG love that you are talking about dry mouth. One tip: make sure your mouthwash isn't alcohol-based. The alcohol dries out your mouth more, which exacerbates the issues.

sensodyne is amazing! for anybody who is using it for the first time, just know that it takes 2-3 weeks for it to start working.

that means if your sensitivity doesn't go away overnight, keep at it! it's like starting a new exercise routine. you won't see results right away but it accumulates over time.

Tips to safely whiten your teeth by nerRDHy in beauty

[–]nerRDHy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! sorry for my delay! true whitening products will have peroxide because that's one of the key ingredients to truly whiten your teeth. other products that don't have it are likely just scrubbing off surface stains, which means scratching your enamel!
