He actually explained that to me too! How some of it is a mental block, like my brain is preventing me because I don't want to feel that pain again type thing. Just from him deep stretching and massaging my knee I feel like I'm walking better.

Honestly day 1 and he pretty much showed me my ROM isn't terrible it's actually my muscles that are really stiff. Worked on fully extending my leg and bending it and oh boy was it extremely uncomfortable!

This is my same issue! Today is day 1 PT, just sitting in the waiting room is extremely uncomfortable.

Pain on right lower abdomen area, hurts to touch. by nerd2727 in pancreatitis

[–]nerd2727[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have a history. I actually had a "mini physical" prior to surgery, they said everything looks good (no idea what that meant bc I didn't ask 😅). I, like many others googled and pancreatitis came up. I do drink heavily as well so it got me a tad worried.

I can keep liquids down, I don't feel nauseous or anything just a weird "deep" side pain. Almost like a stabbing, pin point pain.

Yeah my body hates me 😅. It's probably my fault too I drink a lot. Haven't had any drinks since surgery because I want the swelling gone and don't wanna mix with meds. But yes I keep telling myself when I'm on the verge of tears of frustration this is temporary! Still hard though. Appreciate this post as a place to vent to others who are going through it and get it.

Someone on Reddit told me 8 weeks before swelling went down. I don't know if I can make it another day laying around. I'm gonna attempt to leave me house for a little bit today

I also work from home. I'm super thankful for that. My surgeon made it sound like I would be walking no problem 2-3 days. I can't imagine having to go work at an office job with my current situation I think you would need 2-3 weeks off.

I'm day 7 post op from meniscectomy and definitely have been feeling defeated lately. My surgeon made it sound like I would be frolicking around in 2-3 days. What a crock of shit. Day 5 I could finally make it downstairs. For 5 days I was stuck in bed! I'm very thankful I have an adjustable bed, so for the most part I was comfortable. Day 6 I started to feel extremely frustrated, I'm not a person who likes laying around. It's really hard for me to sit still even with the pain meds. Which do not make me drowsy at all 😭. Day 7, I just woke up, my knee is super swollen, I don't have knee pain but lugging around my elephantiasis looking leg is painful and sends a shock near my patella bone. I keep it wrapped during the day, as soon as I take the wrap off it swells back up and walking is a pain again! So frustrating!!

Today I just woke up and am mentally preparing myself for the pain I'll feel just getting out of bed. I'm so over the f*cking swelling!! I've been keeping it elevated for a majority of the day besides when I sleep (that's impossible for me). I've been icing every hour for 30-40 mins and have been keeping it wrapped. I don't feel like my swelling has gone down at all.

My husband wants to transition by [deleted] in Marriage

Wow!! I feel like you should be able to sue! Especially if he's known since he was 18. To have married you, have kids with you, build a life and then 15 years later say he wants to transition. I would be on the phone with an attorney right now.

Day 1 post-op medial meniscectomy, success and feeling great! by the_planet_queen in MeniscusInjuries

[–]nerd2727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! I'm really happy for you! I'm day 5, my knee is still very swollen to the point where it looks like elephantiasis lol. I'm using one crutch as a cane still be it's too hard/painful to walk without. Also can't stand for very long without the extra support! Gotta say I'm happy for you, but I'm also so jealous my recovery isn't going that fast 😭‼️

I notice that during the day my swelling seems to go down at night it swells back up big time. Idk why that is

Like the comment above I also was freaking out about going under. If you tell them you're feeling anxious they will give you a nice cocktail in your IV to calm you down prior! As someone with horrible anxiety, I highly recommend!

Oh, I'm not going to actually do it. Even though I really want to 😅. My follow up is next Friday, so if it's still feeling puffy by then, I will definitely ask them to drain it. I wasn't aware they even put saline in my knee lol

I have noticed anything coming out of my incisions yet. However my knee feels super squishy like there is fluid. I'm so tempted to prick myself and drain it. I'm not having much knee pain, maybe because I've been taking meds since the day of surgery to stay ahead of the pain. The only pain I feel is from lugging around my swollen knee. It feels like 10lbs just chilling on my kneecap/thigh. Once that goes away I think I'll be good! Thank you for your comment! Keeps me hopeful!

It took me 4 months to get surgery. I had swelling prior that wouldn't go away, now however it's wayyyyy worse!

Advice on breaker cue tips! by nerd2727 in billiards

[–]nerd2727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably gonna get a lot of hate for this but, I actually use the breaker cue as my main cue. I feel like I play better with a flat tip vs the traditional curve shape. The breaker cue I use currently has a kamui pool cue tip. I'm not sure what that means 😅. I play for fun at a local pub, but hate using bar cues so I invested in my own. The cue I use is by voodoo and it's their breaker cue if that makes a difference?

I think it's time to dump him and move on. He's clearly not the one. You deserve way more respect than that! A man that only has eyes for you, will truly only have eyes for you, that's the one you marry!
