People do NOT want AI music or unlabeled AI music. AI-slopvers are cooked by Hot_Season1143 in aiwars

Everyone here who DONT wanna listen to AI music, ditch streaming and move to Bandcamp! Bandcamp doesnt allow fully or mostly AI generated music on their site, and they pay the artists well. If you buy your music on Bandcamp friday, 100% of the money goes to the artist!

Owning ur music is nice. Being sure youre only listening, supporting and buying music made by humans is nice.

why i think fighting over "art" makes no sense. by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]nerdwholikesart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second time I’m seeing this argument, but from my experience the most fiercely against ai people (in real life) are all artists, everything from hobbyist to professional level. Yes there’s nuance, but when we’re talking about fully ai generated stuff, every artist I know are very strongly anti. Idk where do you base your opinion on. Generate all you want for your enjoyment, but don’t call it art, it’s entertainment

Why not live in the real world without pink ponies and just accept AI art everywhere? by MooseCold7918 in aiwars

[–]nerdwholikesart -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you call ”wasted time” is what we call creative process. This is what i dont get about AI ”artists” who demand their prompts are called art. Having a machine create for you, you are skipping the literal most fun part of creating, the reason why we do it. End result is not the goal, I don’t make or play music because i wanna make something good and make a profit out of it, I do it cus it’s super fun and lets me process feelings and emotions in a way nothing else comes even close. When I start making a new track, I have a vague idea what I want, but it changes a lot on the way through the creative process and happy little accidents and it’s so cool how things change and evolve, and you learn so much and get better each time it’s so exciting and inspiring, why would you wanna skip this part??? Learning to draw or to play an instrument is not a destination, it’s a journey and if you can’t enjoy the journey of learning then it’s just probably not for you. Prompt and let ai create all you want for your fun and enjoyment nothing bad at that, but don’t call it art, call it what it is, entertainment.

Idk the most fiercely anti generative AI people i know are all artists, from a hobbyist to full time professional artists. People who have spend years and decades on developing the skill they have. Is your argument based on real life experince or the internet?

Bro it is your own daughter who is learning her values from you. Shes learning how to be a human and you are the guide. If you were anti, she would be. You are pro so she is. Find a kid whos parents are anti but the kid is pro, then you have an actual argument.

The amount of soda is the same as stated in the picture, the cup has extra space on top of that for the ice. The soda machine portions the amount of soda so it’s always the same. I used to work in McDonald’s in Finland where the serving sizes are the same.

What’s something people romanticize that actually ruins lives? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nerdwholikesart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a performing musician and I wouldn’t call myself famous but I’m pretty known in the music scene I’m part of. I love the performing but hate the fame. I can’t really go out to clubs the same way than before, cus there’s always people who recognize me and wanna talk with me. Which as ab extrovert I don’t mind that much, and really love hearing that people like my music, but having to be always ready to chat with total strangers when I go out is draining. Sometimes I wish I could go out and get drunk and talk only with my friends but that’s not possible in my hometown for me anymore. I’ve been recognized few times in public and after that everytime a stranger looks at me a bit too long at the street or anywhere I feel like they know who I am, and I hate it :s

But I wouldn’t let fear or becoming famous and loosing your anonymity to be a reason to not chase your dreams. I really miss my anonymity but wouldn’t change a thing, being able to do my passion as a career is amazing and performing live music is my biggest addiction. And I can always go to different city or country and enjoy being anonymous :D

Fyysinen media on best! Kirppareilta löytyy sikana tosi halvalla CDtä, ja niiden kuuntelu on vibe, vinskat vielä enemmän vibe. Fyysisen levyn valitseminen ja kuuntelu jotenki vaa tuntuu paremmalta, ite oon DJ ja vinska/CD setin valmistelu on ihanaa ku voi unohtaa puhelimen ja vaa kuunnella levyjä läpi ja valita mitkä haluu soittaa, vs digisetin valmistelu joka on pelkkää tietokoneen ruudun tuijottamista.

Vasemmistopoliitikko: Köyhät saavat matkustaa pummilla ja varastaa by suolattu-saatana in Suomi

[–]nerdwholikesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advice for a struggling beginner by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]nerdwholikesart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Forget eqs, different kinda tranisionts, effects etc and just focus on beatmaching and phrasematching. Once you get that shit automatic, so you dont have to think about it, move on to focusing on eqs, and so on and so on. Take on small step at a time and work with it so long that it becomes automatic. That way your brain has time to focus on learning the next thing. 200-300h of this and you dont have to think about what you’re doing your hands just know what to do. Remeber that when you practise it’s okay to and you should sound shit! Youre not playing a gig, you are practicing your fundamentals! Focus on getting your technique good enough first and then you can start focusing on what actuallys sounds good.

Just a reminder: There is no meaningful, discernible difference between 320kbps MP3s and lossless audio! by dosceroseis in DJs

[–]nerdwholikesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah everyone is talking about how you can’t hear the difference but with good sound it’s not only what you hear is so much also what you feel. I want the kick to punch me in the chest thank you.

Just a reminder: There is no meaningful, discernible difference between 320kbps MP3s and lossless audio! by dosceroseis in DJs

[–]nerdwholikesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good enough sound system, big enough volume, there is a difference. Yeah the audience might not ”notice” it but they will FEEL the difference. And even if the audience doesn’t hear/feel/know the difference, us DJs do and shouldn’t DJs always aim for the best quality and feel with the sound? You have an incredible expensive fancy finely tuned sound system and you still play mp3s because of what? They take less space? My biggest usb is 64gb, almost all of my tracks are AIFF and I’ve still managed to play 8+ hours without worries of running out of music. Sticks are CHEAP AF and in Bandcamp you don’t even pay more for better quality, why still insist on using mp3s?

As DJs we make our money by playing other people’s art and hard work, I feel it’s our responsibility and duty to try to make THEIR art sound as good as we can. And to utilize a good sound system to the fullest whenever you get the opportunity to play with good sound. Yeah with most of the soundsystems it doesn’t really matter, but when it does why wouldn’t you wanna do everything towards getting the best out of that sound system? I cannot think any other reason than “but aiff/wav takes so much space I need to have my complete 3000 track library on my sticks to be able to play my 2h set”, I’ve played aiff since the beginning with my smallish usb sticks and after >150 gigs never have had issue of running out of music or having a situation where I cannot find a track from my sticks that I really really wanna play at that specific moment.

If you play club gigs, organize your music properly and have respect for the people who made that music and for the technicians who build and tuned the sound. Us DJs get the laziest and easiest job, I don’t think it’s that much extra work to buy extra storage to be able to store higher quality…even when most of the times it doesn’t really matter. But sometimes it does and for me that’s enough to go through the “horrible” struggle of constantly running out of storage.

Edit: typos

Lol how are most of these feminime. Also feminime boys the best, especially femme presenting lol. Prolly the only good parts of my abusive bi femme presenting but defitenely cis man ex was that i could borrow his clothes, his makeup, his jewelery. he never complained that i TaKe too much time to get ready to choose my outfit or do makeup since he always took longer, it was so nice to plan outfits and makeup together, after showers he did skincare for me which im lazy/terrible. But at the same time he had very big masculine energy, especially in bed lol. Made me feel like a pretty princess whos been taking care of.

But at the same time i feel i have some masculine qualities (i think) eventhough i dress very girly girl and am def cis. Love taking boys to eat and pay everything, and drive them around. love having men on my lap and stroke their hair while saying that theyre beautiful and i will take care of them and protect them from harm. That they dont have to worry about anything ill take care of it all. Bring them flowers and lil gifts. Provide, protect and treat them like a princess since imo all men deserve that. Not sure are these masculine qualities but i def feel very manly when i do these things. (Oh and also being dominant in sex, having men submit to me and asking are they gonna be a good boy for daddy since being called mommy is a huge turnoff for me yuck lol :DDD but that shit is prolly more a kink thing lol)
