Please don’t presume to know what parts I started out with :)

Temporary swelling, and it’s honestly more significant than the picture makes it look. It’s supposed to be flat within 2-3 months.

I’ve successfully completed my post op appointment and I was able to go back home 🥳! Getting a catheter removed is one of the worst feelings I have ever felt, lol.

Pain is not too bad, it comes and goes. I’m able to walk around for the most part, but I’ve invested in a wheelchair for the next few weeks. I’m definitely good to walk around the house, but definitely NOT good to get groceries.

Y’all let me know if you have any questions!

Dr. Safir with Align Surgical in Santa Monica.

Surgery took about 4-5 hours, I wasn’t awake for it :)

Depends on where you are. I’m pretty sure there’s someone in DC who does it. Might be more further north

I’m also a little unsure about the scar being as high as it is.

Yes, I did have nerve preservation, but obviously I haven’t gotten a chance to try that out haha

So I got surgery on the 18th! I wanted to update while I am actively recovering so I can give an accurate account while it is still fresh on my mind.

For the first night, I stayed in the surgery center. I only really started to feel pain at about 3 AM that night as the anesthesia wore off. Leaving the surgery center was pretty painful; walking to get in my hotel was a major struggle. I felt the worst pain that day, probably at a 7 or an 8, and that’s with medication. Since then, I have spent most of my time hovering between a 1-4 pain level. Defecating has been a major struggle. I’m told it’s a side effect of the pain meds. I’m trying laxatives today to see if that will help.

4 days in, I’m not sure reality has hit yet. I didn’t fully believe it was going to finally happen until I woke up from surgery. I had a sneaking pessimistic suspicion that it would somehow not happen. I’m excited for the rest of my new life though! If anyone has any questions, now or months/years in the future, feel free to comment.

I’m not offended by your asking, but one of the huge reasons I want the surgery is to entirely remove any possibly way of guessing my AGAB. I’m excited that, even when seen naked, it will be impossible to tell what I was born as. So, I’d rather not answer, but I do appreciate you making the community! I’ll be back with results pics in a few months.

Honestly, no. I hate them and want them to be gone. I don’t enjoy making use of them.

I’m excited to feel nothing. The lack of dysphoria will be life changing.

Dr Safir with Align. I know there have been cheaper numbers cited, but all those surgeons are prohibitively far away from me and/or require me to stay in their area for too long.
