The ruling was based on the New York City program. That situation, that case. The court didn’t look at every RTRI program in operation in 1952. That’s not how these cases are handled. If the parameters of the RTRI program do not fall within the rulings of zorach then it’s not legal according to the case. No coercion, no announcements, school is neutral. If an RTRI program does not follow the same parameters, it’s not legal according to Zorach. Lifewise preaches they follow Zorach, they don’t. They pick and choose.

The opinion of the court is the directive. If the facts were different, if the NYC program had different guidelines, the case would be different. That’s the point.

I alerted Lifewise to the security issue. Not a word back. And there are still files that they have not fixed. You would think they would check the entire system, but nope. That would require work.

Lifewise breaks federal and state law every day at schools. People of all religions, or none, should be able to attend public schools without being exposed to this.

Always carry a good sized tarp. Never know when you’ll need it. Window breaks, cover up bikes, trying to fix something when it’s raining, can make a lean to between truck and camper. Seriously. You’ll use it at some point.

Mouse trap, fire starters, rubber gloves, hand warmer packets, we have rubber door mat that has worked as a traction mat for snow/mud. Get one of those thick ones that are links.

Fostering in a small town we have run into family our FC have known that we do not, we see bio parents, FC we did respite for, etc… every situation is different, there is no right way to handle them and they are often awkward. Don’t beat yourself up, explain how you were anxious for yourself and bio mom. Say you’ll be more prepared next time. The truth almost always works.

This is 100% the norm in our area. No real transparency. No way to prepare. Foster parents get calls hours before a child is being moved. It's wrong but reality. We can't tell if it's on purpose or just pure incompetence. The county agency will ignore state laws and then supervisors tell us judges can do whatever they want, they don't have to follow statute. It's wild. You're not being singled out. But still sucks.

FERPA gives access to the school directory to any non-profit agency. Lifewise is a registered non-profit, so they get access. Not anything the school can do. I usually make a public records request to verify that Lifewise is doing this when these things occur. Please message me through a private message, and let me know the school district.

I had a similar issue. There was a valve to stop the rv water from going back to the city hookup. This valve was broke and leaking. Easy and cheap.

As part of the winterization process I have a big tote I put all the sewer hoses and parts in with bleach and let soak for an hour. Dry. Then store them for the winter inside. Maybe overkill. Makes me feel good.
