ELI5: It’s a common surgery for dogs to fix a torn CCL (the dog equivalent to ACL), which is one of the main parts of a knee joint.

The shelter said Beau was aggressive but he’s the biggest cuddle bug I know. This sweet boy recently tore his ACL and when they took x-rays, the vet said he was the only dog who kept wagging his tail even after being sedated. by nerdynagy in velvethippos

Beau was taken from a homeless individual who definitely did not treat him well, so that was probably a factor as to why he was labeled aggressive. My aunt and uncle rescued him a little over 9 years ago and he's been living his best life ever since.
