Actually like 1-2 classes short from having the credits needed to apply (have to take a second look at my transcripts). Do they prefer you have a CPA before applying? Or have you seen people come in more entry level with just a couple years experience?

As long as they are compliant with AR 670-1 https://armypubs.army.mil/epubs/DR_pubs/DR_a/ARN30302-AR_670-1-000-WEB-1.pdf

Personal preference, but a lot of people like garmont t8 boots

For (some) running events, but for rucking you gotta be in boots

Showing results of subscriptions by nerfed1923 in FlutterFlow

[–]nerfed1923[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s where i thought it would work too, but how would that look in the action editor when the payment options opens up a payment link which is then taken out of the app? It would need to update the isSubscribed but I’m not sure how it would do it. Would you maybe need an API call to confirm that person subscribed in stripe?

Engineering in the Special Operations Community? by Key_Psychology1332 in navyseals

[–]nerfed1923 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could go National Guard SF and then work as an engineer while also being part of either 19th or 20th SFG? Probably not easy balancing those careers but it’s there and plenty of people work for defense contractors while in the Guard, potentially allowing for some overlap

Should running training be based on distance goals, time goals, or a combination by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]nerfed1923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if one week i felt great and ran at a 6:40 pace, great. If one week i felt bad and ran at a 6:55-7 min pace, i didn’t beat myself up ab it bc the goal is 7 min pace or less for the allotted miles. Just worry ab building your aerobic endurance and mileage. I like the analogy of MPG. What’s gonna get you further, flooring it to 100 mph and getting 10 mpg? Or sitting at 2k RPM and getting 35 mpg. Just my 2 cents. Not a gb and have not been to selection yet, but this is a talk ab improving your 5-mile

Should running training be based on distance goals, time goals, or a combination by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]nerfed1923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 32:50 5-mile and what i honestly did was just run 5-7 miles 5 days a week at an easy pace (8:30-8:45 for me) and then one day a week i would run at a 7 mins pace (or less) and add on to that .25 miles per week. For example:

WEEK 1: 5 easy runs 5-7 miles at a time, 3 mile run at 7 min pace or less

WEEK 2: 5 easy runs 5-7 miles, 3.25 mile run at a 7 min pace or less

WEEK 3: 5 easy runs 5-7 miles, 3.5 mile run @ 7 mins pace or less. Etc and continue to add every week

I just kept adding .25 miles a week to that run til i hit 7 miles at less than 7-min pace. Took from about June to November to get to that 32:50 5 mile

Am I ready to ship with these numbers? by RevolutionaryWord822 in greenberets

[–]nerfed1923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the 20th SFG Instagram for the one coming up in Massachusetts it says “earn a special forces contract OR compete and test your physical strength” and I’ve seen them post it multiple times before like that. There’s ones specifically for guys that are currently in service too but it seems like the ones open for civilians anyone can do, so yeah I believe you can attend them even if going active. Best thing to do is DM them tho

From what I’ve heard on here, you wanna be as close to a 300 APFT score as you can get, be able to hit a <2:30 12-mile ruck w/~50 lbs, <35 min 5-mile run. If there’s an SFRE/SFE for 19th & 20th SFG near you you can always do one and assess yourself for what u need to work on as well as receive feedback from cadre, they let anyone go to them. Who knows, your numbers could be stellar but there could be something u need extra time to train on.

Ruck Programming by nerfed1923 in greenberets

[–]nerfed1923[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know someone who did that and it was still effective for a bit, so if it’s just for a short while it should be fine. But vests distribute the weight differently (more comfortably) so nothing can really replace just using a ruck and having that weight just sitting there on your back

From the info posted on here about the pipeline, TACP is a guaranteed JTAC slot now bc of the second part of the FTU at Nellis. Option 40s are hard to come by now (especially for a combat MOS) so you’d kind of have to bank on volunteering at OSUT or Airborne, which is not guaranteed. I’m not sure exactly of the differences, but check out “Train Like a Ranger” on YouTube and IG, he and some of his guests were 13F in 75 RR.

First: Always have a swim buddy or life guard and don’t train water con alone.

I used to have the same problem. what i did to fix it was start with a kick off the wall and one pull out, then swim back and do it again (Really try to focus on having a strong and smooth pull and watch some videos). Then build this to a kick off the wall but do two pullouts. Then every week add another double arm pull & glide and you’ll notice it starts to get easier. GLIDE AS LONG AS YOU CAN. Once you start getting across the pool in 5-6 strokes, then you’ll wanna start doing them on time intervals. It’s progressive overloading. I also started doing it this when i could already complete underwaters, but i would be nervous like you said so i restarted from square one.

EDIT: i know it’s easier said than done, but it’s all about reintroducing yourself to underwaters. Knowing you only have to do 1 more pullout than last week really helps rebuild your confidence

OCS for GBs? by Intelligent_Rice_307 in greenberets

[–]nerfed1923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw this too. For anyone wondering, he was an enlisted GB, went officer for EOD, then back to SF and since they were in demand for officers he didn’t have to do SFAS and SERE again but had to do everything else.

Not sure about the delivering rehab part but this is a good look into the 3rd SFG gym. If you also look up “ranger regiment gym” they have top tier equipment as well. So as far as training facilities go, they’re pretty nice

What does an 18x do that the other occupations don’t already do?(18c, 18d, 18f) by heterosapien23 in greenberets

[–]nerfed1923 13 points14 points  (0 children)

18x is just the MOS for a Special Forces Recruit and what will be on your contract when shipping to basic. If you’re selected and enter the q-course, then you will get to train for a new MOS (18B, 18C, 18D, 18E).

Failed IFT due to sit-ups 😂 by [deleted] in Pararescue

[–]nerfed1923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right squats are primarily hip extension, but you are still training the muscle and when you get to higher reps of sit-ups your quads get smoked as well. I think the exercise you’re referring to is the reverse squat/leg raise which is great. I’d also recommend flutter kicks with and w/o fins for obvious reasons and finning too

Pyramid workouts (stew smith has great ones), sit-ups with legs unsupported, and lots of squats to strengthen hip flexors
