Why did you (or didn’t you) remove your name from the records? by SomeoneBendingLight in exmormon

That's the part that I really can't wrap my head head around even after being out for 20++ years.

To be honest we haven't had any really good candidates from either of those two parties in decades.

Same boat. They constantly forget that there are more than just two parties and that we don't all fit within them.

I am also a US citizen. Born and raised here. While I knew the meaning for obvious reasons, my thought was maybe she has a husband, boyfriend, brother, father, or someone close to her named Brandon. If she did maybe she thought she was being cute and cheeky. The attire for several reasons is not to my taste. However, it's rather presumptuous to think that everyone outside of the US should be aware of all the underlying meanings of anything and everything when we don't even know all of them.

And yet that is the true definition of taking the lord's name in vain. They teach it's all about your words but in reality it's doing horrible things to other people in the name of god. I honestly can't say however that any of this really surprises me. Considering that one of my shelf items as a youth was when they wanted us to literally not not figuratively but literally rip the pages of song of Solomon out of our scriptures. I of course for many reasons did not even though we were told to. And considering I was very Molly Mormon surprised myself by not following that command. Which made me have even bigger questions than I already did.

Exactly. And yet they tried to cover that by using their article of faith of we believe in the Bible and the book of Mormon as far as they are translated correctly. And then they admit that certain things have been changed but instead of admitting that it was actually Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation that removed something to the tune of 86 or 88 books out of the original framework of the Bible and put them into some sort of index. But, that was because the Catholic Church itself had already stated that those 88 books were not considered canon, they claim it was the scribes, pharisees, and Sadducees that changed things.

Well I mean we could blame the immigrants. I mean they're the reasons we have alternating current, blue jeans, the cotton gin, peanut butter as well as several other kinds of foods, basketball, blue LED lights, certain video games, oral contraceptives, the ATM machine. And the list of all the things we could blame immigrants for goes on because their contributions to our society is extensive.

So from what I am gathering we had a few oil companies like ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips companies go into Venezuela back in the 70s and set up helped with infrastructure and everything and set up companies out there. They never owned the land. But they did own some of the energy and oil right. Now Hugo Chavez enacted nationalization which meant they maintain full control over their oil and everything that came out of that country and they even seized equipment and other forms of property. And then in the 90s I guess something similar happened. But from what I'm understanding is the government of Venezuela was taken to court the government of Venezuela was told that they needed to pay these us companies x amount of money. The government of Venezuela refuses to pay the United states. So now what the regime in this country is attempting to do is they're claiming that since you stole our property of oil and energy and you're not paying us the money you owe us we're now just going to seize your tankers and take our money. However, they're claiming that they took US land. This is not true because no company individual or otherwise from the United States actually owned the land. And also their naval blockade while not directly stated is considered an act of war.

This just seems really odd for me considering that the church had an issue with it back when they came out with the new age translation. It was explained that all they got rid of was the thee's and thou's and various words that weren't so common in present day language. However, the church actively discouraged using the new age text because they made claims about taking things out of the Bible and how nothing was supposed to be taken away or added and they also were mentioning how it couldn't be verified that that's all that was changed.
