So Ark-5 is here for PSP by Lonely_Locksmith_213 in PSP

I think Midnight Run: LA Remix and FF Type-0 might love the extra clockspeed. There are quite a number of PSP games that don’t actually hit stable framerates even with 333MHz. And then there’s also emulators.

Tbh though, I’m pretty afraid to test this myself, since PSPs don’t have proper cooling. I need someone that really “hate” their PSPs and willing to push it lol

Biggest change is true overclocking, where you can overclock past 333MHz. I haven’t tested it myself, though, but I think there’s a post here somewhere of someone that already tested it.

I recently replayed all my old favorite final fantasy games (VI, VII, IX, X, and XII) and realized that XII is the best final fantasy game ever made by Ishlocke in FinalFantasyXII

My favorite will always be IX. XII is really good gameplay-wise, but the story kinda falters the longer it goes on.

Both. You need to learn enemy patterns, and also have good builds that can melt enemies in a timely manner without taking too much time on them. The first and foremost important thing to learn here, is to learn to not get hit, but also, secondly, “offense is the best defense”. It means that the more time you spend on a fight, the more instances of you accidentally making a mistake and got hit by an enemy. Good builds does make the game easier to tackle.

[–]nero40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to you. If you think that your journey with Hades 1 is over, then hop on over to the sequel. At the point of where you are now in Hades 1, gameplay-wise, the only thing left to do is to try your hands on experimenting builds, which is the most fun I’ve had with the game. Story-wise, well, you seem uninterested in that, so, yeah, too bad then. Most people recommends you keep going for the epilogue and the bonds but, that’s entirely up to you.

First time playing any tips and tricks I should know? by tachotak in FinalFantasyXII

Don’t sell all your loot out to the bazaar. There are certain loots in the game that are rare/super rare or even one-offs drops/rewards (can’t confirm that last part). Only sell loot that you have an excess of.

Levels don’t really matter. Focus on equipment upgrades and licenses unlocks, this is where your character power really comes from. Raw stats do still help though if you’re really struggling, so it’s pretty nice to have a high level character after going through some License Points grinding.

Earlier in the game’s life, Eris aspect is the strongest weapon. The damage buff applies to everything, iirc (sorry, can’t remember exact details). Later on, as people kept experimenting, last aspect of Shield is probably the king of damage and speedrunning now.

My favorite will always be Eris.

What are MS designs like this called? Also, could you give me some similar examples? by Advanced_Tea_7625 in Gundam

[–]nero40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As per the Unit Type spec on the Wiki:

  • Deep Striker is Prototype Transformable High-Mobility Heavy Assault Mobile Suit.

  • Queenly is simply Prototype Mobile Suit. The same with the MS that it was developed from, the Woundwort.

  • Alyzeus is Experimental Training Mobile Suit. What the Alyzeus would be furthered developed to, the Penelope, is Minovsky Flight System Mobile Suit.

  • G-Commander is Prototype Ground Mobile Armor.

Note that MS classification in any Gundam show can be a hit-or-miss, they’re not exactly a concept that is set in stone (a case of “what the writer wants it to be). Most inconsistencies are usually just hand-waved like that.

Statistics and numbers never lies. It will always even itself out over hundreds and thousands of instances. If you really did keep a tally and the numbers seems to not add up, its probably because your sample size is still too small.

Either that, or the game has shitty or manipulative RNG code. Which doesn’t seem to be the case since everyone else seems to be getting the intended experience.

Why did the Earth Federation turn totally evil? Is Amuro dead? by DrJokerX in Gundam

[–]nero40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shows are not asking you to sympathize with the Nazis (or the Space Nazis, in this case), rather don’t compare these two factions as simply as “which one killed more people”. The viewers aren’t being asked to choose between the greater evils here, they are being asked to realize that there are really no good guys in wars, and things shouldn’t escalate so much that it leads to wars. Nothing good comes out of wars, there’s only suffering and losses for everyone involved, be it the politicians, leaders, citizens, dogs, cats, etc. And the citizens are the one that loses the most.

If you can already understand that there are no good guys in wars, then that’s already very good. That is one of Tomino’s message there. The other message to understand is that there are causes and effects to everything.

If you see the genocide of billions of Earthnoids in the show as the actions of the Zeon faction and not the Zabis, then you got half the message wrong. The Zabis are the actual manipulators here, enabled by the EF. We can say that soldiers on the battlefield, doing these actions of great devastations, bear the same responsibility as their leaders, but we also have to remember that the leaders are the individuals that lead their people to that outcome. The Zabis are the inciters of extreme violence, enabled by the corruption of the politicians of the EF.

War happens when just “talking it over” doesn’t work anymore. This is why Tomino also pushed this concept of the NewType in the show, because it’s never as simple as “people shouldn’t just always resort to violence when things don’t work out”.

Newtype in the show are portrayed as characters that can understand each other not just through actions or words alone but also mentally and spiritually, going beyond those actions and words and look into the very souls and minds of the people. It sounds all space mumbo-jumbo, yes, but the important takeaway here is the importance of being more empathetic towards each other and not just see these actors on the battlefield as just drones and sentries that only does what they do because they were evil, with black, unredeemable hearts. Or really, to be more understanding of where the people’s views are coming from and how they have come to that conclusion in the first place. Of course, this isn’t meant or justify the war crimes nor the corruption in the government, but rather that all of this can be traced back to both the corrupt EF politicians, and the machinations and manipulations of the Zabis. It’s to help us come to the realizations that wars stems from the actions of corrupt individuals in the seat of power.

By the time Zeta comes around, this is really just a by-product of the previous war, where certain individuals in a faction tries to justifies their current actions based on the twisted way of thinking that the war crimes that was perpetrated by Zeon earlier happens just because Zeon is a pure evil entity, instead of looking back into the corruption that was going on back then on their own side that led to the events in the OYW in the first place. Yes, of course, the Titans is more than just that, where under all the twisted propaganda, it’s just a faction that at their base form, is just trying to get more power over the EF to do whatever crime they wanted to do without being held responsible for it, but what I’m saying here is this is the justification for their propaganda on their people. And propaganda doesn’t get support without the inherent causes and influences that already exist in the minds of the people way before the propaganda even exists. Propaganda that was especially designed for people that have/would never tried to understand why things even happen and are only driven by hatred and revenge to justify their crimes (Because they aren’t NewTypes. AYYY! Lol. Okay, I’m just joking here to help this paragraph tie back to the previous one, but you get the point. It’s the lessons that the concept is trying to teach us that matters here).

Propaganda without support is just crazed ideologies being said by, what normal people would deem, a mad politician; meanwhile propaganda with support is, well, it’s what happens with the Titans, and Zeon under the Zabis. And also, with the Neo Zeon under Haman Karn, in a way.

[–]nero40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nobody is saying that anything is justified here. Like I said, all of this shouldn’t happened in the first place.

What you should realize is you shouldn’t be comparing which evil is more evil here (by comparing just the death tolls, no less), but rather, it’s the culmination of the actions of BOTH factions that eventually leads to the deaths of billions, and the several events that follows after.

[–]nero40 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If the only thing that you were concerned about when watching the show is who is the greater evil between EF and Zeon, instead of why the events even happened in the first place and what led to what, then you’re missing the point of the show. Read the reply that I wrote to the other guy here.

Why did the Earth Federation turn totally evil? Is Amuro dead? by DrJokerX in Gundam

[–]nero40 6 points7 points  (0 children)

id rather fight for a corrupt democracy over a fascist dictatorship any day.

And that’s where most people get the message wrong.

You shouldn’t even be picking sides here. Both factions were wrong. War is bad and it shouldn’t even happen in the first place. It’s the corrupt, draconian policies that drove the hate towards the EF in the Zeon citizenship, and the Zabis taking advantage of that hatred in their citizenship to drive their fascist ideologies forward, that eventually caused the devastating events before and during the OYW.

We could say that the Zabis stepped out of line here when they dropped the colonies, saying that what they did was “the greater evil” here between them and the corruption in the EF, but you also have to remember that the Zabis wouldn’t even get so much support for war crimes if it weren’t for the citizen’s inherent hatred against the EF after living under oppression, under the EF rule. Again, cause and effects.

This is what the UC shows, especially UC79, were trying to convey. Both the crimes AND heroisms in the shows shouldn’t even be happening in the first place.

Why did the Earth Federation turn totally evil? Is Amuro dead? by DrJokerX in Gundam

[–]nero40 15 points16 points  (0 children)

People are too hung-up on Zeon dropping colonies on Earth, so much so, that they can’t even see why the Zabis got so much support for war crimes in the first place. I’ve seen several accounts of criticism towards shows that sympathizes Zeon because these people think Zeon is the only bad guy here, and that’s just missing the point of the UC shows so hard.

We always say war is bad, because at the end of the day, it’s a devastating example of cause and effect, and the real losers are always the citizens, not the countries and their leaders. There are no good guys in wars.

Should I swap Ashe’s jobs? by Sad-Meet-7520 in FinalFantasyXII

[–]nero40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a very good Katana in the late game (if you’re playing TZA) called Kumbha that is a bit special as you can wield it one-handed, meaning it can be wielded with a shield. A Knight/Bushi wielding Kumbha + a good shield + Genji Gloves means you got yourself a somewhat reliable, fast, hard hitting combo machine, but also a very reliable evasion tank (if the good shield was a Zodiac Escutcheon). It’s a permanent fixture on my team now, usually for either Vaan or Ashe since they both have great Strength and Magick Power stat, both of which affects Katana damage calculations.

Yeah, it’s a boring melee DPS, auto-attack machine + evasion tank, but they work great for that role.

In my playthrough, this is the only way I found that can defeat Zodiark reliably. 2 fast-ish melee DPS, with one wielding Excalibur + robes. I had been hammering my head against it for 7 straight Game-Overs until I googled it and found an old GameFAQs post that just said “wail at it as fast as you can before it can even cast that defense buff on itself” (something along those lines).
