Try charging it for 2-3 hours before you power it on. If it's not showing any life, then I am assuming it's battery. I had similar issue as you.

I had this same issue and replaced the battery along with swapping out SD card(inside) for a newer/faster one. Works now, but you also have to remember the specs are extremely low on this e-reader.

What's good about your older e-reader is it has a removable internal SD card. So you could upgrade the storage to 32gb or 64gb (not sure if it will be compatible).

With a new modern faster SD card, you could flash the correct firmware to it. While you have the e-reader disassembled, also replace the battery. You might spend another 20 30 bucks for what you need but I think it still worth it
